GREED

The DMV shows it is the enemy of the american people. Any decent company is sharing the burden of having to face this coronavirus pandemic. many good citizens have lost their jobs. some landlords have deferred rent until people get back on their feet. some utilities have deferred payment until the crisis is over. the DMV does not have to show the people any such kindness. fact is the DMV has never been good to the citizens of America. even now they are business as usual . if you are late on your registration payment the DMV will still charge you an exorbitant late fee. yep , your industry shut down because of the virus ? DMV says not my problem screw you john Q public. pay me!!!! people lets remember those that helped us during this horrible crisis. forgive those like the DMV who shit on us when the going became horrible. just never forget what the DMV did.

Never received renewal notice

I never received renewal notice for my car. I didn't know that my registration due on September (on registration paper) but the month tag on my license plate is November. So i thought is due on November and now i have to pay $65 penalty. My registration is only $87. What a good way to rip off people that dont have money to spend on something stupid like this, good job DMV!

Your ignorance of the renewal date is your fault alone.

Registration renewal not received

I have owned a vehicle since March and have never had to renew the registration. Yesterday I was walking by my car and noticed my registration had been expired since August, but I had never received a renewal in the mail. I tried to rectify it as soon as I discovered this, but was unable to make a payment online. I am concerned about late fees and other consequences that will occur due to a lack of notification of renewal.

Registration renewal not received

I just wish all the people complaining about the DMV would specify where they are since the DMV is not a single nation-wide entity.

Stay away from this one

I received a notice of delinquent renewal in the mail without even getting a standard renewal form in the mail. I never got the chance to pay even know about the renewal being due, since its for a motorcycle I just ride once or twice a year.I called DMV to complain they told me I had to go to an actual DMV to complain.

California still trying to get fees on car no longer owned nor in California

How are they to know the car is no longer in California? Did you notify them of the fact when you shipped it to Hawaii? The same goes for the ownership.

By the time you notice your tags are expired, you are in for a FIFTY PERCENT fine

Here is another popular scam; You NEVER get your notice to renew by mail, they say, "The mail clerk returned it as undeliverable" and you must take their word for it.

By the time you notice your tags are expired, you are in for a FIFTY PERCENT fine ! Oh, and dont be surprised if your selected for a "RANDOM" smog test also. DMV is organized, state sponsored criminal enterprise. Their extra fee generation scams are obvious, blatant and civic-ally embarrassing. Its called corruption by any other name

You are an adult are you not? You have a whole year to realize when your tags are due to be renewed. Notices are a courtesy.

Received registration 5 days before due

My registration was postmarked on July 6; I received it in the mail July 8th and it is due tomorrow on the 12th. Normally, we receive our registration notices at least 2 months previous to the due date. Fortunately, I did not need a smog and able to renew online, however this is unacceptable. DMV withheld our registrations based on the turnout of a proposition in California. They should have not been allowed to withhold our registrations until the voting period was over and then give us less than a week to pay.

Received registration 5 days before due

Notices are a courtesy. You are an adult and it is your responsibility to keep up with when your renewals are due. We don't get notices here and yet the whole state can figure out when to renew their tags.
