Not following Covid-19 Rules

None of the area Dollar Stores are following or enforcing any of the Covid-19 rules - I love to sho there but I do not feel they are taking the safety precautions seriously.

Item no longer stocked

Dollar General carried a mop with a brush on one side, I believe it was a dg brand.
The mop was blue and gray, and at one time it was pink for breast cancer awareness.
PLEASE put this mop back in stores,it is a good product.
Headquarters said they could not help me without a upc code!
Many times this item was out of stock, I know it was a good seller.

Stuff that is supposed to be on sale it's not marked correctly or ringing up correctly

My daughter was at one store about 6 miles away she was telling me about this dollar towel sent me a picture couldn't really see that well I belong 2 Dollar General coupons.com everybody's always showing all their pictures of their great deals went up to the counter with the picture exact same scan numbers for the towels did not ring up correctly this happened with several and I meant several different items said I don't understand the lady said I'm sorry I'm not a manager I'm just a key holder that closes every night don't have the authority to override I will get in trouble my sister or a friend of my sister can't exactly remember works at the same store your daughter is shopping at and she comes in here all the time and says this is supposed to be on sale in that supposed to be on sale and how come all of this stuff at my stores on sale and you don't have stuff the same stuff I'm so that we have I think it's lack of management not putting it in the computer correctly the sales ad says As Seen on TV and it's not on sale at the store towels got the picture got the UPC and still ringing up wrong why I will tell you why the manager didn't put it in the system correctly I am the same one that's in a excuse me filled out a survey today before I went in to get a $3 coupon and gave a bad review because I was in there last night and the manager standing there not doing nothing am I going to start going to a different one Dollar General store all together cuz I don't think you deserve my money unless this problem is fixed I would like a phone call I have wasted my time with Dollar General too much I go in to shop and get these deals and if I did not pay attention I would get s*** out of money yes I'm sorry s*** out of money I do not want to email I want a phone call 828 310 8442 thank you

Won't accept coupons

I completed the survey online at DGCustomerFirst.com to receive a coupon which was sent to my gmail. This coupon offer is printed on all their receipts. I used these in all others stores in chatsworth and the store in tenga tells me they can not accept my coupon on my phone. This is not a screen shot or picture. This is a legitimate coupon sent from their website. I'm highly ticked off that the store I normally visit won't accept my coupon. This is stupid considering the other stores will. Bye bye to the tenga dollar store. No more business from me!!

being accused of many things

I was terminated from my job with Dollar General accused of many things while in their employ, although they have camera footage they can NOT prove I have committed any crime. I feel I am the victim here older, female and white in an all black store, I never received any type of written or verbal warnings. I was short in my drawer of $16.00 before I waited on my first guest and the assistant manager did not want or try to fix it the last night of my employment.

Rude Manager

Very rude manager at the store in Tennga, GA. Her name is Tammy I believe. I have been a weekly shopper there for years. I may not go back again. There was a problem in the store and she made me feel like it was my fault that it happened, when it was a fault in the stores shelving. I could have been seriously hurt, but was mainly embarresed about a shelf collapsing, She made like it was my fault, and I've never been so humiliated.

way they treat employees

I have family that work at Dollar General. They were full time employees, had health insurance, life insurance, etc. That is until a area manager decided that some employees needed to be listed as parttime. NOW no one said anything to employee about this being changed! A call to insurance company about finding a new doctor, only to be told that YOU HAVE NO INSURANCE! Reason you were removed from full time status to part-time. No I'm sorry you have no insurance. Oh, another company handles insurance for part-time employees. Call to store and was told area manager had told manager to change some employees from full time to part-time DIDN"T REALIZE IT WOULD MESS UP INSURANCE! But call company that handles part-time insurance. That call was made told SORRY NOTHING I CAN DO, YOU CAN'T ENROLL UNTIL OPEN ENROLLMENT IN A COUPLE OF MONTHS! BUT YOU CAN GET COBRA UNTIL THEN! Now no health insurance and no money for medicine. They also will not let you work more than 20 hours even when status is full time. After reading all the complaints about Dollar General and the way they treat all employees, I wonder when top officals will step in and clean up this mess. OH, THAT'S RIGHT THEY ARE MAKING GOOD MONEY CAN'T BE BOTHERED!

This sounds a little fishy to me. No company can legally change you from full to part time without informing you. It seems highly unlikely that a company as huge as Dollar General would "forget" to inform an employee of such change, especially since the repercussions of this would be huge if it were true. It sounds more like an employee wasn't paying attention when said information was provided to them, or maybe they bothered not to read it. I mean, to call up your insurance company and find out you suddenly have no insurance??? Didn't you notice the premiums were no longer taken out of your check?? Since this account wasn't directly from the employee, but "family" of the person writing it, I would say that the truth was most likely stretched to make the employee less accountable. I DO NOT doubt that they were changed from full-time to part-time against their will but A. I'm sure that they were informed of the change and B. I'm sure that they were given documentation or notice about the change in benefits. And not being able to enroll in the part time coverage? Well by law you have 30 days to re-enroll in the new coverage offered, if you don't do it within 30 days of the status change, yes, you either have to get COBRA, or wait until next years enrollment period. Sounds to be like someone procrastinated, then got screwed, then tried to blame it on the company by bad mouthing them to a naive "Granny12". Or at least that's what my 10+ years in human resources tells me.

Customer Service

On 072511 at ~ 8.00 PM my daughter decided to take her 1 year old Maltipoo dog for a walk. Her dog is well trained, friendly and weighs only 9 LBS. She decided to stop at the Dollar General store at Savannah GA located at the Georgetown to buy a roll of tape. She did carry her small puppy on her lap inside the store. The store manager told her that no dogs were allowed and asked her to leave. My daughter said that she would call her father (me) so that I could come and pick up the dog so she could finish her shopping. When my daughter started dialing the phone inside the store the manager called the police. We live only 1-2 minutes drive from the store. I told my daughter that I would come to pick her up. She was standing outside the store when I arrived (2 minutes after she called), I arrived at the same time than the police. The store manager asked the police to give my daughter a criminal tresspassing warning and wanted her to be banned from all Dollar General stores and permanently. Police asked my daughter to sign the paper which she did. Our family has supported our local small business owners and have visited this store as long as it has been open without incidents. However, we feel that the actions the manager took by calling the police were extreme and unnecessary, eventhough she might have had the legal rights to do that. Our family will not shop in any of the Dollar general stores after having my daughtyer treated in so rude manner.

Customer Service

I'm very familiar with this incident and there is more to this story. First of all the daughter became very aggressive when she was approached by the store manager. She starting cursing in front of other customers and theatened the store manager saying "I'm calling my dad and he'll deal with you". After becoming very aggresive, using profanity, and making theatening remarks is when the store manager called the police. The dad arrive to the store, immediately ran out of the car, and starting showing aggressive behavior toward the store manager (who was outside at this point). The police, who had just arrive also, detained the dad briefly and made it clear he needed to calm down. This is why she was banned from the store. By the way, the Health Dept is very strict about animals in places the sell food (if they are not seeing eyedogs). The store manager was following the law.

District and Store Management

First off, I would like to express my sick distaste in the entire company of Dollar General for the following reasons. I have a friend that is an extremely hard worker and has helped run 5 of the Dollar General stores due to lack of employees and qualified management. She was fired over a situation that was totally out of her control. Yet there are District managers and Store managers of the WAYCROSS area Dollar General stores that find it okay to over-ride payroll hours in order to make their stores look like they are performing to premium projections...District managers who let my friend go Two Weeks through the entire christmas hollidays without a paycheck because payroll was messed up due to a store transfer. I am surprised that Dollar General is still in business due to the inept unqualified and uncaring corporate management in this region.

District and Store Management

Back in the 90's, I had a DG dist mgr tell me Wal mart was behind the times when he interviewed me in GA .After I stopped laughing, I got hired by another company. Later DG was invesigated by the SEC for cooking the books to make their stock look more favorable to the stock market. This company is for someone looking for temp employement. Hardly anybody retires with them. DG doesn't want you to. LOL
