I have been a nurse for 20 years and know procedures well. I went to Dr Richard Arabitg and wanted him to take out the inplants he place 10 years earlier. My complaint was pain on my breast from the very first day but was told it will go away. I learn to get used to the pain and keep going. 10 years latter i go back for him to make me a full c, remove my old implants and place new ones. The surgery included general anesthesia but the day of surgery there was none. They took me to the room and of the sudden i fell disoriented but for a short time, that’s normal from the VERSED which is a benzodiazepine used to not remember the procedure the life can last but in my case i felt all the pain and remember the cutting into my flesh. IN the surgery i asked for zofran because i was nauseated and his replied was “ this nurses” and then he order Phenergan. I was hypotensiven and heart rate of 50. I kept looking at the monitor and telling him and at the same time his secretary walks in to ask him a question on another procedure. I kept moving around letting him know i was feeling pain and yes he gave me Fentanyl. Every time I complaint of pain he would say “yes I feel your pain” Only his assistance was next to him but she is not an RN so who was administering the medications?The end result is my left breast is deformed and i have my old implant so he took so much saline out i can feel the edges of the implants and it is uncomfortable. He does not carry malpractice insurance but patient safety has nothing to do with that. In medical school ther teach first do no harm. Not having malpractice insurance does not give him the right to butcher people and cause sever pain. I needed up with a very small C not what i asked . The surgery was 3 hours long. You know a chart is a legal document and should write only what occurred but i am very sure the way it occurred was not documented by him the way it happened but i have no prove of that. on fortunately is his word against mine and as a nurse I am a patient advocate so i want to advice to ask many questions if you go to him. Have family present, my husband was not allowed to be with me before the surgery this time but the first time he was with me. I don’t know why but my husband remember when they wheeled me out into the parking lot 3 hours latter an Dr if i can call him that told him i had a whole on my breast that it must of just occurred. My husband reminded him i complaint of pain from the beginning of my initial surgery and then he turned around and did not say anything else. God help other patients my job is not to hurt his reputation but i can only tell my story and inform when asked about him in the central Florida area and as an ER nurse i have come across some patients who had done work by him with other stories.
