DriveTime Customer Service
I bought a 2017 Hyundai Veloster on 8/16/19 at Drivetime in Marietta. Before my 1st payment, the trunk lock malfunctioned. I went by Drivetime to see what I needed to do about the lock, they told me to call Silverrock. I called Silverrock, explained my situation, they told me to take it to a repair shop, and before the repair is done to call them and they will authorize /or let them know it is covered under warranty. That was so far from the truth. I went through all that running around to find out it wasn't covered under the warranty, and I was 1 mile over the 1500 mile limit? I was looking sideways because I was paying $3555 for warranty coverage. I asked them, so I have to cover this repair out of my pocket? they said yes!!! I did say, I hadn't made my 1st car payment yet, right? My loyalty to Drivetime was fading fast, It took a PepBoys mechanic to tell me to call Hyundai and see if my car was still under their warranty. Thank God it was, but the heartache just kept growing, I had to get a new catalytic converter and my A/C replaced because it was leaking. I was talking with the sales guy, and I said man I have only made two payments on this car and i am having these kinds of problems. Then he told me, I'd try to help you get into a newer one, but this car is only worth $8000 and it was in an accident with moderate damage. I told him no it was no structural damage, then he handed me the full carfax report, He said he we could refinance, but you would be upside down in payments, and it's not worth it. NOW the loyalty to Drivetime took flight never to return. I called Drivetime Customer Service and explained my dilemma. I asked the CSR is there a way since I am only 2 payments in, to be put in a car worth the $18,841.13 I financed it for? Remember the car is only worth $8000. He told me, Ma'am you had 5 day to return the car. You are more than welcomed to try and get it refinanced somewhere else. The Silverrock Warrenty , GAP Insurance and GPS warranty all costs. (Now , I bought the car with 44, 300 miles on it) . i then learn the $3555.00 Warranty expires at 50,000 miles. I will NEVER REFER ANYONE OR BUY FROM DRIVETIME EVER AGAIN!!!!!!! I am trying to find a way to get out of this BAD LOAN!!!!!!! If anyone reading this has any suggestions, I am all ears!!!!
