Waiting 2 months for final solar inspection

I am writing to you to seek your assistance with getting Duke final approval for the solar installation that we had done several months ago at the address above. I am requesting two things:

1. Immediate approval of solar system installation
2. 4 months of $500/month (total) electricity credit for energy we’ve been feeding into the system for which we have not been compensated.

We bought our house about a year ago and decided to do several upgrades to our electrical system, including adding a generator and solar. We had a Generac generator installed and after a long delay, your company finally approved it. We went on to have solar power installed; however, your people refused to approve the solar system because of a wiring issue with the Generac, something that should have been flagged on the original Duke inspection of the Generac installation. The situation has been remediated, but we can’t seem to get anyone from Duke out here to do the final approval to the solar system, because your people continue to complain about the Generac install (which has been fixed and pictures provided).

In the meantime, we have continued to feed electricity into the grid since March 15, 2023, but have not received any credit for it, which was the whole point of solar. We have been waiting since 6/15/23 for someone from Duke to come back and re-inspect the Generac fix, but can’t seem to get any date, commitment or anything done. We had a short delay in applying to Duke for the initial approval as the solar contractor had to redraw the plans, but all the other delays have been due to Duke, especially the most recent delay!

Timeline:
Event Date
Signed Solar Contract 10/25/23
Received permit 3/3/23
Solar Install 3/14-15/23
Duke Rejects install because of Generac problem 5/24/23
Generac issue resolved 6/15/23

We would appreciate your assistance with this today so that we can get this issue put to bed.

Please feel free to call us with any questions.

Warmest Regards,

HIGH ENERGY

I was charged 638.40 for my electric bill in March I called to complain and it seems like your customer service reps cannot help people when they have been price gouged. Your company put in new wireless meters at the same time my bill went thru the roof I believe that my meter was read and then they also did their own read and it was duplicated and I have to pay the price anyway. I also know someone else this happened to and their house is empty being remodeled nothing running in the house you need to go back and audit all the new meters that was put in at this time and find out how they came up with doubling peoples usage and then the next month it goes back down seems a little fishy to me.

repair issue

We have had issues with our underground power for about a year or so. The "legs" coming from the pole underground to our home have been burning in two. I'm not sure why - one guy said it could've been a bad batch of wire - but it causes our power to be at 1/2 capability. Each time we've noticed either our appliances sounding funny, lights getting really bright and dimming, etc. different situations to let us know that something is wrong. Each time we've had to shut off complete power to our home to keep our appliances from being ruined. Each time we have lost our refrigerator and freezer items. Every time we have to use temporary power for a week or 2 and then they have "patched" the wire back together. The last time, the Duke energy repairman said he'd put in a request to replace the entire line. When pike came out to make the repair, they said they were only told to patch it back together - but that they agreed the entire line should be replaced because there had been so many patches and that they'd put in a request. They said we'd hear from someone in a week or two. I waited several weeks and then called around April 17th. The customer service rep said she saw the request and that someone would be at our home around 9:00 on May 3rd (this morning). My husband stayed home from work. Around 11 I called customer service again, she still saw the ticket and said she would give the department a call and my husbands phone number so he could go to work. At 1:30, I called because still no repairman and no phone call. This time CS put me through to another dept that was to do the work. This gentleman didn't see a ticket so he started one. Now, there's a repairman at our home to correct our power outage - which we have power!! I EXPLAINED to the earlier gentleman on the phone before he made the ticket, yes we have power, we are just supposed to be getting a line replaced due to so many patches and outages. I told my husband, someone will probably show up today but I guarantee you they won't have the correct information or equipment to replace the line. I WAS CORRECT. I refuse to pay any more power bills until the line is TOTALLY REPLACED at 1755 Benton Rd. Sophia, NC 27350. 30 years ago, Duke Energy was the best power company you could hope for. Today, it's the worst company and we should be given the right to choose what power we have. We are at the end of the line, right next to Randolph Electric. Our neighbors never lose power!! But our power bill is higher. Ridiculous!! No matter how many hours or days we don't have power, our electric bill never decreases.

unfair deposit

Unfair deposit demand. Duke Energy wants $526 deposit which they will keep for 23 months for a one bedroom mobile home.
I spoke the the company and they said first that it was last 2 months bill of former resident. I don't believe it. Then I filed
a complaint with the state of Florida. A representative of Duke Energy called and her justification was the deposit was a
result of the last 12 months average bill doubled. I don't believe that either. Mobile home has been vacant for several
months and is under renovation. I told the Duke Energy representation that I am willing to pay $200. Seems they
have all the power and can cheat people and take their money. Its not as if you don't pay the bill they can cut off the service.
This is a direct result of a monopoly and no competition. Big business is bad for consumers.
