Con Artists Making False Marketing Claims

After being contacted by FACILITIES MANAGEMENT BUSINESS DAILY which launched a facilities management website a few months ago and is part of a group of companies established less than 2 years ago which trades as "FMBC Marketing" (https://fmbusinessdaily.com/about/) and "BUSINESS DAILY GROUP (HOLDINGS) LIMITED" despite having been established 2 years and launched its publication only months ago (with assets of £400 registered at Companies House - https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/13243266/filing-history) by its owners David McLoughlin and Francis Taylor, I have discovered ALL of the marketing claims it makes on its website about having "200,000" subscribers, web visitors seeing "62 MILLION" and having delivered £2 BILLION OF CONTRACTS are untrue, fraudulent and deliberately designed to trick unsuspecting advertisers into parting with their cash (https://fmbusinessdaily.com/about/).

To put the figures it gives into perspective as it publishes a B2B magazine (not a consumer magazine), Politico.com which is one of the most visited websites by business people in Europe with 49 million visitors according to SEMRUSH (https://www.semrush.com/website/politico.com/overview/) states it also has 200,000 subscribers despite having been around for a decade, the members publication of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) which is one of the biggest and oldest magazines for construction professionals states it has 90,000 email subscribers, and www.construction.com which is the biggest publication for construction professionals states it has around 110,000 after also being published for over 10 years.

In fact, after contacting the top 5 established B2B publications and websites in facilities management which have all existed for between 10 and 20 years this week, all have told me they have less than 50,000 subscribers (or FOUR TIMES LESS than this magical new publication) and less than 1 million web visitors a years (which also means less than 4 million page views a year on average compared to the claim by FACILITIES MANAGEMENT BUSINESS DAILY to have 62 MILLION every year), with all of them also telling me they have been wondering about the claims made by the company.

In fact, 62 MILLION page views would be half the amount The Economist receives in a year despite being one of the oldest and best known magazines and websites for business people in the world! Funnily enough, as there are less than a 500,000 facilities managers in the whole of Britain, they would all have magically to have visited this new website several times in the last year and ignored every other magazine that deals with facilities management in the last year which suggests David McLoughlin, Francis Taylor, Cheryl Ellerington (who describes herself as FM Business Daily's Managing Director - not a 'Publisher' like everyone else who runs a publishing company) and the Dennis Flower who is described as the "Group" managing editor - clearly this brand new publication nobody knows likes to give its employees HUGE and impressive sounding titles - must be sending out a new type of digital pheromone that is attached to every one of the scammy emails they send out.

My advice to people visiting Complaintboard who read my review is to ask the company to provide proof of its claims BEFORE you part with a penny of your hard-earned cash since proper proof isn't evidence they have bought new "friends" by paying £50 to a freelancer offering 200,000 followers on peopleperhour.com or Fiverr but means requesting access to Mailchimp (or whatever independently hosted emailing service they use and looking for 200,000 'opt-in' email confirmations that you will not find and evidence of 200,000 emails being opened that you will not find either as they don't have that many subscribers. And it also means requesting access to their google analytics console (which they will refuse you) to verify for yourself that they are trying to scam and defraud you of your business's hard-earned cash. It's remarkable what excuses their representatives invent when you start requesting access to proof of their dishonest claims!
