I have purchased and paid for two Steel filing cabinets to be assembled by me. Got to say here that I am not a novice in putting things together as long as there are some half decent instructions coming with it I will put it together!
Got the delivery and after opening the first box one part of the side panel was severely bent. The advise I got from FF was to just assemble it and that it shouldn't matter much - if it won't work after assembly they will send me a replacement. Already not a good start I thought. Anyway, left the first box as was and started to assemble the second one which had no bent parts in it.
To make a long story short - assembly instructions were almost none existent. Had a pack of screws but partially nowhere to put them, some I could figure out where they went. After going forth and back with FF they sent me a slightly improved manual but even this was lacking every which way. As an example they asked me to put screws at the top but there was no place to put them. I managed to put part of the cabinet together - with no help from them all all. They were as useful as tits on a bull!
After putting one drawer together and not being able to put it into the cabinet I asked them to send someone to fix it or I'd like my money back. We were going forth and back now for almost 2 months just to get to this stage. Not getting anywhere with them at all now - no more response from them whatsoever, I contacted Office of Fair Trading IN QLD. I am now seeking legal advice from NSW.
