22 karat gold fun

There is a word in the dictionary. Novelty. Look it up. The cost of a bag of Felix Bonanza is currently $180.00 (spot price of gold is at $1570 an ounce for 2/12/20). The pictures on the website depict what you should expect to find in a typical bag. No, you are not going to get rich panning this dirt, and you may only get about 80 or 90 dollars total for gold that turns out to only be 22 karats. It's the experience that counts. Yes the dirt is very dirty, and you should not do it in your kitchen unless you rinse all the dirt with water for awhile. Using some screens it becomes very easy to classify the sand from the rocks, then it's hours of separating worthless rocks from gold. A bag usually takes me about a day or two to totally be satisfied that I got all the 3.something grams that I usually get per bag. The gold is beautiful shiny from Alaska. Looks great in a glass bowl or just strewn about the table with some little diamonds mixed in. If you tally the costs of actually going to a claim somewhere, digging up the dirt, then crushing it into concentrate so it can be managed and panned... gas, the machinery (unless you plan on doing it all by hand), the costs begin to get overwhelming and just like in Gold Rush, they never seem to make much profit at the end of the day. I'd much rather sit in the comfort of my own home and pan at random whenever the urge takes me, and I am always amazed and awed by the sight of gold in my pan.

Felix pay dirt

Felix is great! I complained about my jackpot bag to Felix and there customer service was great, they asked me to send them my gold and they would make it right. After weighing it they sent me a video asking if maybe my scales were wrong. At first I was offended thinking they were trying to avoid what I thought was not right. I thought what the hell I should look into this suggestion that my scales are off. I went and bought new scales with calibration weights and found that they were correct and my scale were in fact way off! I felt like such a jerk for accusing them of ripping me off. They mailed my gold back to me free of charge and to my surprise there was a bag of dirt along with my gold, the bag gave up another 1.2 grams of gold plus the 4.2 grams from my jackpot bag. Needless to say I found them to be a company of integrity and stellar customer service who truly cares about there customer satisfaction.

whiners

I learned to pan for gold in 1999.I spent the summer panning all across northern Maine.guess what-there's no gold up here.I started buying gold bags from Felix that year, and have bought maybe a dozen bags total, No,I did not make my money back, but I wasn't expecting to,either. I was looking for FUN, and I got that by the barrelfull, I also tried buying bags from various other sources; Felix's is always the best.
If you want to buy gold in a quantity near what it is worth, buy bullion coins. If you want to have fun at the kitchen table on a long winter's night, buy from Felix. I have never gotten a bag from Felix that had NO gold in it.
5 out of 5 stars for me,please.

Felix Gourmet gold 2 pound Bonanza bag

I purchased a 2 pound Bonanza bag of Felix Gourmet dirt for $170.00 plus $18.00 for shipping. To say the least I was super-excited open my with the expectations of receiving the amount of gold that I've paid for, at least somewhere in the ballpark maybe not exact at least somewhat close. Extremely disappointed with Felix Gourmet paydirt. Yes there is no promise on the amount of gold you will receive. However there is a thing called good morals and professionalism. To be honest I've seen neither! I received about $40.00 nothing compared to what Paid. Very disappointed. I am a lifetime GPAA member and a lifetime LDMA remember. I see their advertisement all time in our Gold Prospectors magazines. They claim to have the best pay dirt on earth in our magazines. Well let me tell you this is not paid. This is soft light top dirt with gold that's been sprinkled in it. There's no blocks and there's no garnets there's no heavies. This was my first purchase with them and it will definitely be my last, it was a learning experience.

Felix pay dirt is a rip off

felix pay dirt was running a special for a 2 ounce nugget which requires you to buy one bag at 180.00 and another for 365.00 plus shipping of twenty dollars. I panned out the gold and recieved 4.2 grams which is worth maybe 160.00 minus the 20 percent deduction you get for raw gold if you sell it, so gold value of approximately 130.00 worth of gold after paying 600.00. This is excessive profit. No replys to my complaints, they don't care. So I will complain to the district attorney for operating a scam. These people are thieves.

paydirt

You know, I've been reading these complaints about Felix's paydirt and I just wanted to say that I've been dealing with felix for 5 years and my experience with his gold has been terrific. It's really sad when people have no idea what real prospecting is like and expect to just pop open a bag and find a load of gold plus half the time they don't even know what they're doing. Trust me, it's an art that is learned from years of experience. I've been gold panning for a while now and it's a good day's work to get just a little color in the bottom of my pan. So, while I may not get exactly 100 bucks worth of gold in a $100 bag, I'll probably never find the kind of gold I find in a felix bag. All I can say is that there will always be people who are unhappy with stuff because they're just plain always unhappy. I enjoy finding gold and I always find good gold in Felix's bags.

Misleading Advertising

Every now and than, as in several complaints here, Felix, after getting his nose rubbed in it long enough, contacts some of the customers hes screwed, and wants to make it right - at least try to redeem himself. These guys roll over, and after telling everyone what a crook he is, suddenly they pull a complete about face and now have nothing but good to say about Felix. They forget about the screwing they took when he dangles another bag(specially salted with the good stuff) in their face.Too bad he doesn't make it right with the other 98% of his customers. These 2 guys will learn again. Ain't education wonderful?
Screw me once, shame on you, ...screw me twice shame on me...Save your money.

I have mineral interests in the Big Belt mountains in Montana. I work hard for my gold, but I always find it. It sure as hell beats paying some greedy money monger the equivalant of $4000 an oz., which so many people out there seem willing to do. Since Felix more than likely buys most of his gold at $1200 to $1500 an oz. and sells it for around $4000 an oz., we could all do the same thing. Like I say, hes mining the miners. Not much real mining going on here. If you belong to the GPAA you can read his drama queen stories about mining and fighting off claim jumpers! With guns drawn! OH MY!!
I don't know how anyone can justify his prices, unfortunately there are a lot of people out there that either don't have a clue, or don't care, and will continue to be screwed by Felix Paydirt.

Theres some pretty incredible boneheads out there. Any one that thinks that Felix is doing them any favors is beyond clueless. Why anyone would think that the "experience" of finding gold is worth the fees he charges is beyond comprehension. If you think this is normal business, normal and acceptable profit margins, you have zero business sense.I know this is hobby material, we do this for fun, but man, if you think paying $200 for $100 worth of gold, or $2000 for $1000 worth of gold(and I'm being generous with these figures) is OK, you've literally got money to burn. Sorry but Felixes gold is not twice as valuable as any other gold out there, which, if you look at all you will find raw gold for purchase at spot prices. Its really not that hard. They honestly could put a little more gold in their bags and make it almost a legitamate business, but greed steers these guys, period.
