Avoid this site at all cost!!! They pretend to represent a hotel, but do not. All charges are NOT refundable!!! Piece of shit!!!

Outrageous ripoff
I looked up to try to book a room for my new assignment to work in Salinas, CA the next day. After checking the map, I decided to book a room at Howard Johnson because it was the closest hotel to my workplace. I googled it and tried to make a reservation directly with the hotel. Unfortunately, the number that I found was the number to GETAROOM.COM. I talked to the man with a heavy accent, and obviously clumsy at this work. He had never mentioned to me that he was working for getaroom.com and providing me a service to book a room. I am a traveling professional for almost 10 years, I learned not to book rooms through a third party. I regret that I should have taken time to verify the charges but I assumed that it was expensive in the Monterey area. The total room charge was $310 for 2 nights but the total cost to me was $418.49. Since I was in a hurry, I thought of going ahead and I would check with the hotel tomorrow when I arrived. When I checked out, I was informed that getaroom.com will issue me a receipt. I was shocked to find out that they charged me $ 108.49 for "Tax Recovery Charges".
I called them, the Customer Care agent told me that the best she could do in her capacity was to give me 10% discount from the total charge. She also informed me that the supervisor was never available to talk to the customer.
This is obviously a convoluted way to do business. It is a scam! I wish that the government should stop these kinds of scam trying to squeeze people for these illegal charges.
While waiting for this scam to be eliminated from the system, I would strongly warn you to be extra careful when using the third party booking a room for you, especially GETAROOM.COM.

my hotel reservation # didn't found
I have been book Sands Regency hotel room/Reno, NV/ and got confirmation #R45595930.for 11.09.15 night. When I arrived with my wife, res.# is not be on the list /exactly money was withdrawal/. After conversation with company agent, they sent another conf. # 76665773. It reach hotel computer ,but clerk announced that me must pay new price because it look like new order...
For me it means pay twice for one night?! I didn't. We got big stress and headache
After I call many times to company , got many conversations but have no money refund... What to do????
