We received the "you've won a free cruise" postcard in the mail 6 or 7 years ago. We called the number and went to the "presentation" to basically collect our cruise. We were first shown a video presentation and the price on GBV was jacked way up to $15,000 or some such number. When we went back and talked to the "salesman" we thought...what the heck. The price was dropped and we bought into a $3000 package. I should have listened to my gut instinct and the red flag of the sudden price drop.

We attempted to collect our cruise. Both of us working full time in demanding "you can't just not show up" jobs thinking we could at least use the cruise. First we had to spend $200 to book our "free cruise". The cruise company came back and gave us three or four different dates that we might be able to collect our cruise. They would choose the date on a moments notice. We had to back out, due to employment obligations...we needed a set date, not four different possible dates.

Since then I have not contacted GDV because I am still pissed about the cruise. They have attempted to contact me a few times over the years, but I am sure they want to give me another pitch in hopes I will give them an annual fee.

BTW, funny.. received a voice mail from GDV this morning. I called them back for fun to see what they wanted. It sounds like they want us to basically hear the pitch again because we have never used our membership nor paid an annual fee. I said I would take my money back. She said I would have to call the corporate office as they are the only ones that could approve that. The number she gave me is (800) 879-7779. She said it is located in Kansas City.
