Fraud

I have never bought from this company because of the prices, but I saw your annual package, which was 11 dollars a month, so I bought it. However, within an hour, you guys charged over 191 dollars to my card I canceled the subscription and emailed you guys, but I have not gotten a refund. I have told my friends to cancel their subscriptions as well; I do not recommend using this.

money deducted from credit card

i have been a subscriber of Grammarly's quarterly plan which ended on 23 June 2020. since I had already cancelled the plan and received confirmation mail from them mentioning my cancellation on 20, June 2020, which is three days before the expiry of my subscription plan.
still money from my credit card was deducted unreasonably for the automated renewal of subscription without informing me or with my prior permission.
again i must say that my previous subscription cost me only eleven dollar per month whereas this enforced and cheating new plan pocketed me 4566.72 rupees.
I found this very objectionable and un professional from Grammarly.
to add more, we have no email or toll free support number to dial. i have attached the email of cancellation which was received from grammarly before three days before the expiry of my subscription.
I therefore request them to return my money at the earliest.
thank you.
waiting for your reply.

Pesticide

Please stop assuming that the mass public does not know how to use correct grammar. Remove yourself from YouTube and enter a more lowkey approach to advertisement. This would be massively appreciated by YouTube viewers who do not like to under the assumption we need correcting. Adverts are supposed to shared out 9/10 is your ### application being stuck in our faces it is not fair it is very annoying. Stop it.

Thank You.

Additional note: Nice to see people are getting charged $139.95 without notice I'll consider myself lucky having not conveyed my bank details to such a desperate and pathetic excuse for a company.

Goodbye.

Charges

I have tried to get in contact with this company for a while now and I have not received any emails back. There is a charge for $139.95 that I made a mistake for. One of your employees offer me a refund but hasn't responded back to me. I am a college student and I don't have money like this. I am not even using the service and I would like to cancel my subscription as well. I really hope you can help me with my situation. Thank you.

Unnotified auto-renewal

The company automatically charged me for renewal close to 140$, which I didn't ask for. I have discovered it a month later and it was too late to cancel. Although the renewal is in their Terms of Service, nobody reads it carefully and not notifying customers about charges and limiting the time to cancel to 7 days is not an honest business practice. If they can spam me with ridiculous and completely unsolicited progress messages, they can certainly let me know when they take my money.

Unnotified charge - not willing to refund

I will start with the most annoying thing that happened to me, and I do not want any other student who is going to use this service to experience. I purchased the annual plan of Grammarly. One year after, I checked my debit card, and I found a charge by Grammarly for renewal in my annual plan which I did never ask for. So, I sent an email to the customer support, and a lady called Olivia responded to me the following:

"We’re sorry for the misunderstanding about our payment policy. At this time, we don’t send automatic billing reminders, but when you subscribed to our service, you agreed to our Terms Of Service and License Agreement, which states that you will be billed if you do not cancel before the next billing date. I have reviewed your account history, and, unfortunately, we are unable to refund your renewal payment per our Terms of Service and Refund Policy. Grammarly will not refund any payments that have been made to your account after the initial 7-day period."

The thing was that I did never receive a notification about this charge and also that the moment that I sent to them this email it was the 7th day of this plan. As a student, my budget is very limited, and I cannot afford a charge like this, but in Grammarly, their priority is not the students.

Thank you for your time.

Over Billing & Billing On Closed Account

I wanted to check out Grammarly.com - the online grammar checker. I opted for a 1 month only plan. So I was to be charged about USD 20/- for that. Little did I realize that in the reams of fine print they state that despite you choosing a 1-month only plan, they enroll you and keep charging you beyond the month. I called & mailed, but no one returns the calls. The customer service always gos to an answering machine and the sole message I got was a standard blah blah about how Grammarly.com keeps billing to ensure uninterrupted service ; this despite you requesting a 1 month only plan ! I resigned myself to the scam and closed my account pronto. Now the account is closed but I am still being charged. This is the 3 rd months now ! Again calls/support queries are not answered.

To anyone wanting to use Grammarly.com, be careful it is scam ! the software is slow and horrible to boot...

Over Billing & Billing On Closed Account

I've been a professional editor of scientific articles for 20 years, starting from a background in science rather than in editing. With some trepidation, I tried Grammerly's free trial. They claimed to find many weaknesses in a good piece I took from Wikipedia. Most tellingly, the short customer service responses seen above have some features that look ugly to me, e.g.: "In order for me to assist" is a wordy variant of "For me to assist"; "We take all customer feedback very seriously, and make it our outmost priority to support" should have no comma because it is a single sentence with a compound predicate rather than a compound sentence. Thank goodness I checked before I bought. Thanks for your great service.
