$25 OFF instore tax return COUPON

I submitted the coupon (which I rec'd the previous day) before filing a simple tax return (CPP, OAS) with the necessary T4's. I paid $90 for the privilege. I had also filed with H&R Block the previous year (which cost me approx $800). There is ALSO a large instore banner advertising this particular promo. I am a low-income senior citizen filing my return, and the lady preparing my return stared intently at this coupon as if she was viewing an artifact of the very Cross upon which Jesus Christ was crucified.

She spent 20 minutes (of MY time) attempting to make sense of what I thought would have been a straightforward transaction.
She queried her boss, who apparently did not have the authority to make a decision. The coupon and the instore banner bore no
'disclaimer'. We parted ways with her promise 'to get back to me', which I, as an astute student of human nature, seriously doubted.

Not filing on time

There was a lady that worked in her home for H&R BLOCK. I gave her 3 years worth of taxes to do. I was notified that my taxes were done only to find out 2 years later that my taxes for 2013,14,15 were not filed because she had dimensia. My wages were garnished for my MSP of 2,279 . Once I notified CRA they told me that my taxes were not done. I lost a refund for my taxes of over 3,000 dollars. I should be able to reclaim that money lost but was told that the Government only goes back 3 years. This is very unfair as I did get my taxes done. Not only once but twice and paid over 600 dollars. So in reality I have lost over 7000 dollars. So unfair considering I was a good Canadian citizen and followed the law. Very , very upset

Errors

The H&R Block have done my Income Tax Returns for the past 2 years. I have had so much frustration just trying to get through the person doing my taxes. The Receptionist had me repeat my name 4 times and she still misspelled my name. She set up an appointment for me to come in and when I arrived, she said I had to wait for them to return from lunch.

Today, I found out that H&R Block did not check the box off for them to get permission to eTransfer my Refund, which I've given them. I am still waiting to receive my refund for they said it could take up to 24 hours to fix this error they admitted they made.

I am planning on taking my taxes elsewhere next year.

incompetent staff

For the past two years I had been going to the H&R Block office on the corner of Sherbrooke street east and Langelier in Montreal.

I was very satisfied with their services. Perfect service.

But Holy smoke, I went at the Pointe Aux Trembles office on Sunday 11 2018 and could not believe that this office was in operation.

Incompetent staff, only one staff available on Sunday 11/03/2018, the Lady had to act as receptionist and accountant at the same time, so could not proceed to help anyone. Only two employees on the 12/03/2018, music blasting from the shopping mall speaker which is installed in the ceiling of the local 1400 St-Jean Baptiste in Pointe aux Trembles, Montreal and gives a completely stressful waiting time experience.

Nobody was present at the front desk on the 12/03/2018, therefore no customer greetings. Customers completely ignored.

Staff could not even figure out how the computers worked and were locked out due to codes.

We go to H&R block because they are supposed to be Pros, and the service is the most expensive on the market due to them being supposedly Pros.

To tell you the truth, I do not even think I should have been charged for their services.

Terrible experience and waste of time, the manager should be replaced

Say that I owe them money and they paid me my refund

I had my 2015 Income Tax Return done by H&R Block. It was a simple return but took 2 days to process. I got a refund paid to me in the form of a debit card supplied by the company. The amount was $954.87. About a month after that, I received a refund from Canada Revenue Agency in the same amount as what was paid to me by H&R Block. Now H&R Block claims I owe them $1,222.97. It is obvious that this mistake is not mine. They paid me my refund. The issue is that they made a mistake during the filing process. This is not my error but it is theirs. They need to be getting the funds from Canada Revenue Agency and not from me.

This needs to be addressed quickly and should not go into collections.
