FRAUD

On February 28th, 2020 Matt Tedder was in Atlanta, CA on business and while attempting to check-in Matt was informed the Omni Atlanta Hotel was booked; this is where reservations were made with Getaroom.com. Unfortunately, the hotel was over booked. While at the check-in desk Matt made reservations through the getaroom.com website via his cell phone in which the rooms were “paid in full” in advance; a reservation confirmation number was received; #R19Q271440. The hotel agent stated there is still no room even though the agent was shown a reservation confirmation from getaroom.com. Matt immediately called the getaroom.com customer service and asked why he has a reservation confirmation when there is no reservation. The customer service representative asked for the number of the hotel front desk. Matt waited with the hotel agent and no call ever came in. Matt called the customer service agent with getaroom.com and said he would call again and placed Matt on hold. Again no call came through. Matt immediately asked for a refund and was told they are unable to do this based on their refund policy. The hotel reservations were just made and there was no availability so the refund should have been processed. Matt called Citi Bank to dispute the charges and was given a temporary credit for the full amount of $1,170.46. Recently Matt received a letter from Citi Bank stating he will be responsible for the charges based on getaroom.com’s policy. Their policy is for cancellations and/or no shows which does not apply to their fraudulent reservations where the hotel is booked. The documents sent to Citi Bank by getaroom.com, dba CCI Hotel, is unreadable in a very small font.

A full fraud complaint has been filed with the Federal Trade Commission on this charge and to look into the fraudulent activities of the company. The company website is getaroom.com but the charges show up as CCI Hotel. A request has also been made with the Federal Trade Commission to take down the getaroom.com website to prevent other consumers from fraudulent activities associated with getaroom.com.

A full fraud complaint has been file with the Better Business Bureau on this charge and to look into the fraudulent activities of the company. The company website is getaroom.com but the charges show up as CCI Hotel. A request has also been made with the Federal Trade Commission to take down the getaroom.com website to prevent other consumers from fraudulent activities associated with getaroom.com.

If this matter is no resolved by getaroom.com, dba CCI Hotel, within the next 10-days legal charges will be filed. Not only will getaroom.com, dba CCI Hotel, be responsible for the fraudulent charges of $1,170.46 they will be responsible for ALL legal expenses.
