On August 29, 2022 American Express card informed me that HERTZ ITALIANA SPA charged 31 Euro.
Please review the charge for the following reasons:
- I was not renting car in Italy in August 2022;
- I did not authorize HERTZ ITALIANA SPA to charge 31 Euro to my American Express card on or around August 29, 2022;
- If there are any basis for the charge please provide all necessary supporting documentation.

There’s a u$ 34 extra charge twice in my credit card . Even when I took the car , it was dirty , I told the employer , didn’t give me an answer , and so they make an extra charge in my credit card . It’s not serious . I don’t recommend it anymore

Rented a car from Hertz in June in Italy. Returned the car with no issues or traffic violations on June 23rd
On August 1st and additional charge appeared on my credit card. Challenging the charge with the CC company. Now on August 14th a SECOND FALSE CHARGE has appeared on my card. This will also be challenged.

I received a fine from the Ferrara police for entering the motorway through a gate for pass card users, but I was able to settle this case the following day as the documents attached to this email will prove it.

We vacationed in Tuscany and other northern parts of Italy in December 2018 to Feb 2019, In January/February of 2019 (2 to 4 months later), a charge of 30.5 Euros appeared on my credit card statement for Hertz Italiana Spa.

After speaking with my credit card company we assumed that it was some additional charge and paid it.
Then another charge for 30.5 Euros appeared on my next statement.
I cannot get an answer from Hertz (as it was not even Hertz through whom we rented those cars!) and my credit card company is now investigating.

After reading other complaints, I feel this is a fraud by Hertz Italiana Spa on many others as well. I also want to challenge these charges like many others before they start charging more and more without our knowledge!

I rented a vehicle the summer of 2018 for a month, returned the vehicle with a full tank of gas, paid in full the invoice with a credit card.

I received a charge on my credit card of $ 47.19 in January 2019 from Hertz Italiana with no email to explain the charges.

Last september 21rst, i rent a car (Fiat Tipo 1.6 MJT/FL724TB), in Venice Italy, under rental record 347985142, with supercover insurrance bought in their office, as One Way road trip and to be returned in Roma Stazione Termini.
During my road trip the car rented present malfunctions and stop working / broke up (clutch or engine) on road. I call hertz customer service and they provide crane Service and i paid my taxi (and was disscounted by HERTZ from my invoce) to the nearest airport (Firenze) to do a car change (Nissan Qashqai/FN716GA) applying guarantee and supercover insurrance adquired with them from the beginning. I pay my service charged September 25th directly to my credit card (VISA) per $339.39.
The problem it’s not only the time that i lost during changing vehicule, but the real problem happend 2 months later i received $532.85 charge from Hertz Italiana SPA / NOV 26th without any explanation. I supposed that it’s a mistake but I report as fraudulent charge generating by your Italian office using my personal data and VISA credit card to generating non authorized charges.
Then they answered that the charges were legitimate because in the 300 km driving the car from Venice to Florence, I lost the car (mechanically speaking) a car with 15500 KM of use prior to my trip and rented to other users weekly, without showing evidence of the state of the car (machinery) before I rent it. It should be noted that I have been driving a car mechanically for over 20 years and this car simply can not say that a mechanical failure is the fault of the driver of a vehicle that they use daily for several passengers.

Unauthorized charge thru my VISA credit card US$532.85, cause the car that i rented in Venice broke up/clutch failures during my trip to Rome. They charge a 15500 KM roaded vehicule reparation, informing that in only 300 Km rolled on road, i broke the mechanic transmition, without any survey before clutch condition previous my trip. I’m a regular mechanical transmission driver for more than 20 years, so it’s very hard to assume that i was “the responsable of the damage”
They doesn’t present any evidence of technical or mechanic surveyor before car was rented by myself.
As i can see it’s a “modus operandi” used by Hertz Italiana to get overcharge from customers. They replay to my claim arguing that i’m responsable Cause happend during my trip. I hired a car from Hertz in Siena, Italy for 48hrs and dropped it of at Pisa airport. There was no new damage to the car and it had a full tank of fuel. On returning home I discovered an additional charge on my credit card of 30.50 euros.
I feel this is just a scam to get additional money from what is already an expensive car hire firm.

I rented a car for one day to drive from Rome to Florence. Even though I had legally had it for 24 hours, I turned it in as soon as I got to Florence ( the night before it was due to be returned the next morning ). There was nobody at the office even though I returned it during their operating hours. They must have left early. Months later, I received charges on my credit card for two traffic violations. Reluctantly, I paid them thinking they were for the traffic fines. Weeks later, I received more charges from the Florence Police Department for the same violations. Where I thought I had paid the fines were only "administrative charges" for processing the fines. If added together, I will have to pay over $300 for two simple traffic violations for a car rental I had less than 12 hours. I have not seen any proof that I drove in a restricted area, or an unauthorized lane. I feel I am being scammed! Do not rent from Hertz Italiana Roma!!!!

The 11 jully a rent a car I pay cash 110 in Livorno Port and I leave a boucher for the same amount. I delivery the car ok but Hertz car payment the boucher for the same service

We rented a car from Hertz at the Milan airport on March 28th. Now, almost 5 months later, a charge for $44.34 was made. Judging from the complaints, this seems to be ongoing and can't believe Hertz hasn't investigated. I will not be renting from Hertz again.
