UIF DOCUMENTS NOT PROCESSED BY INCOMPETENT STAFF AT THE BRANCH

Good Day

I was retrenched from my company in August 2017. I tried seeking new employment but with no luck i wasnt successfull with a job. I then applied for my UIF submitting all the relevant required documents from my company and banking institution at the Chatsworth Home Affairs - LABOUR DEPARTMENT on the 12th of January 2018 and the lady that took my relevant documents and processed it and gave me a white card and stamped it with the date 2/02/2018 and she told me to return back the the department on that date to sign for my 1st payment. Then on the 24th January i recieved an sms stateing that my uif claim has been rejected and i must return to my labour centre to enquire further details. It was a very short sms not giving much info as to why the claim has been rejected. I went back to the Labour department in Chatsworth and the lady at enquiries checked on the system and told me it has been rejected because i have NO CREDIT DAYS AVAILABLE. But she couldn't explain to me as to why i have no credit days available because i only worked for 1 company for the last 7years and i paid uif for the last 7years and i never claimed before. I was retrenched from my company in 2017 and all the relevant required documents i submitted as they required so i couldn't understand why my claim was rejected. Then the branch manager assisted me he brought out all my documents and checked it to be correct, he then made a few phone calls pertaining to my claim, he then contacted my companys HR department to verify all my details and information on the documents and all were correct and in order. He then transfered me to another lady at the branch dealing with uif queries and she took my documents processed it on the computer, made a few calls and then she told me not to worry everything is sorted out and my claim is in order and processed. And i asked her if i must come back to the department tomorrow just to check and make sure my uif claim is processed corectly , she told me and assured me my claim was in order now and processed correctly and i just have to return to the department on the 12/02/2018 as stated by the department stamp on my white card with my id document to sign for my 1st payment. I then asked her what was the cause of my claim being rejected she told me there was a processing error on the departments system the processed my claim to be that im applying for the 2nd time for uif thats why it said no credit days available. Thats what i was told by the Labour department official and went home. When i returned to the department on the 12/02/2018 to sign for payment after sitting in the long cues and visiting the department on several days to try amd sort out a mistake on my claim made by the Home Affairs -Labour Department Staff members. I was told again my claim is rejected and i was given the same reason as they told me previously in January. I was told claim rejected reason NO CREDIT DAYS AVAILABLE AND I MUST FOLLOW A LONG QUE AGAIN TO ENQUIRE ABOUT IT. BUt in January 24th the lady dealing with enquiries together with the branch manager assured me my claim was all in order and processed correctly and that i mus just return on the 12/02/2018 to sign for my 1st payment. Its been 2 days im sitting in this department now and no staff member can give me an answer as to why my claim has not been processed because its giving the same rejection notice as previously in January which the assured me was sorted out correctly. Now no staff member at the department can help me with answers or solutions to process my claim correctly which i tink they just forgot about it after i left the branch in January and never did they jobs because its giving the exact same rejection notification on they computer screen as it did in January. And they showed me the notification on the screen. Now they tell me to follow different ques to query this problem i have been here for the last 2 days 12/02/2018 &13/02/2018. But no 1 seems to behe assured me my claim was in order now and processed correctly and i just have to return to the department on the 12/02/2018 as stated by the department stamp on my white card with my id document to sign for my 1st payment. I then asked her what was the cause of my claim being rejected she told me there was a processing error on the departments system the processed my claim to be that im applying for the 2nd time for uif thats why it said no credit days available. Thats what i was told by the Labour department official and went home. helping sort out this problem which is a mistake on they behalf. Now they tell me the supervisor that helped me if off today i must phone him and ask when he is returning to work because he is the only one that can assist me since he assured me previously in January that my claim was all correctly in order and processed. When i called the supervisor he says he is on 2weeks leave and told me to speak to another staff member at the department.
But every time I call to check progress, there is always something unexplainable or unfixable and the claim is not moving. When i go to the branch department i encounter the same situation and hear the same excuses and reasons from the department staff. And i keep getting told to follow different long ques just to get to the front and make no progress with my claim. No one is actually telling me why there is a hold up on the update and actually how long its going to take and what is the reason or problem for the delay.
The stressing part is that no one from department of labour ever contacted me or can assist me with my claim when they see a hold up, every time I only hear new excuses that dont make ethical sense pertaining to my uif claim after making a call to them.
To me the people assisting us at home affairs - Labour Department at chatsworth durban don't care and really lack skills and knowledge in their field of work, therfore we are encountering so many delays because the staff members can not carry out their given task as ask by their job description correctly and efficiently. All i would like and would highly appreciate is if some could assist me in processing my uif claim or even if you could provide me with a number that i can phone which will be of assistance to me. Because im just running around in circles back and forth to the Labour department in Chatsworth everyday with no progress being made and i live quite a distance away transport is hard and costly for me to keep going to chatsworth labour department for nothing. Please any assistance would highly and gladly be appreciated. Thanking you in advance
