I am in similar situation, IBSN is not responding back to calls/emails. I got in touch with the IRS agent. I was advised to file a compliant in Form 14157 available in IRS website.
I also got off a call with an attorney from Law firm. There advise is

1. If the Claims is within 7500 USD, we could approach the Small claims court.
2. I am also checking the option of filing legal suit for breach of contract
3. We could also write to AIPCA with regard to the practice.

They are clearly breaching the contract agreement. Apart from claiming non deductible expenses, they are charge your for unlimited returns. And when the audit query comes, they don't respond, which is clearly a breach of contract agreement. There is also monetary payment for this service charged and not performed.

I am just sharing the information i received. I am not an attorney.

They know everyday me or my wife keep calling them, so the customer representatives get out client id #, keep us on hold for sometime and then hang up on us. They never connect us to TRU team. No one has looked into the IRS notice. I suspect there is no team called TRU. I attended IRS interview and explained him everything. The IRS guy said we should have been cautious when selecting tax filing company and he cant do anything about it. He has sent me revised notice with all due amounts. I have no other go, have to pay IRS. I know IBSN will not take up the responsibility.I emailed to [email protected], no response. Is there is any other way of escalating about this company?

IBSN not responding to Tax audit notice. Sent many mails to [email protected]. Called many times in US morning and US evening and night times. Everytime Customer representative will say someone from TRU team will get back. But it never happend. No one will call back or respond to emails. When you call in the morning they will say TRU team will be available in the evening. When you call in the evening they will say TRU team will be available in the morning. Even sent emails to ramesh.krishnan, ravishankar.vishnubhotla, archana.rashmi, anuradha.narmeta, vikram.ravoori, FAREED.MOHIUDDIN. No response from these people as well. This is a story of past one month. Due date with IRS was over and they are going to put penalty for wrong itemization in tax filing. Don't know how to trust IBSN when it comes to IRS audit.

That's very true. I'm in the same situations now. Keep calling IBSN about my audit notice but no progress so far. They sent me some appeals notice and I also signed and sent the power of attorney but no updates after that. If they are really working on these notices, then what's the problem in responding to the customers. It looks they just try to create a scene like they are busy and working on these cases but nothing is true. I guess there is no way other paying the penalty and overdue taxes ourself.
