order not received as written up

The below statement was posted on face book by my sister-in-law. My in-laws were staying at my home at the time my 90 year old father purchased these stakes. We were not there at the time or WE WOULD HAVE STOPPED HIM FROM DOING THIS. Rob was suppose to deliver the box of steaks to my in-laws new apartment the following Monday and as of today he has not shown up with the purchase, so my sister-in-law has been trying to get in touch with this company and with the sales rep Rob. Here is what she posted on face book:

I am really angry this morning!!!

Rob from Iowa Steaks, how can you sleep at night and feel good about supporting your family through cheating the elderly and low income people?

Door to door meat salesman took $329 from my 90 year old father who lives on a fixed income. He promised he’d deliver the goods that he did not have on hand at the time.

All phone numbers have been disconnected! There is no way to get in touch with the company!

Please share this message and let these people know this predatory behavior is not acceptable!!!

Steaks not as labled

Bougt the 399 pack, most steaks looked pretty good, ribeye, t bone , filete, new york strip. The web site has the names all mixed up. I also received some thing that reminsa me of a chuckeye steak small and thin. If you are trying to say it is a ny strip you are mistaken!. I dont know what u r calling them but it is not a strip! And the pic on the web site doesnt say what they are. All the names are mixed up. This might as well be used for stew meat! The follet was good though.

crappy meat

this was the worst steak we have ever eaten or tried to eat. Garbage.. I stopped payment on my check and they can come get the crappy steaks that are left.

Pushy sales person

Sales person that showed up at my door started out nice & friendly. But the more I did not fit into his sales pitch the pusher & frustrated he got. I finally agreed to let him show me a box of chicken. The cuts were very small & thin & he would only sell it as a case for starting at $249. When I said I would not spend that he dropped the price $100 dollars. So that shows me it wasn't worth what they are asking. Then the fact he said other product was thrown in with it leads me to feel they are desperate for sales. He continued to be high pressure sales which also tells me the product can't sell itself. I told him I would not spend that kind of money on something I have never heard of & never tried. He told me everything you use you had to try it the first time. But I told him I did not do it at that price & amount. I bought one to try it & it did not cost me $150. He became mad & on the nasty side. He had said he had internet orders in my neighborhood & they must have good taste if the live her too right. WOW now we are trying the flattery approach. He would give no names of my neighbors that bought from him which tells me they didn't exist or would not recommend it if they had bought. I told him it just was not going to happen. If he had an individual box he would sell I could try & see if I was happy with them. Since that was not an option then we were done. He was really mad & put the boxes back in the case make a not nice sales comment on his way out.
This all says to me the product is not what he tried to sell it as & they depend on pressure sales & lies to get you to buy a case. We have the delivery frozen food company that sells all over here & I know you can buy just what you want & how much you want. And if you do not like it or there is a problem they will replace it, exchange it or refund it. And no pressure sales or demanding sales & you can order whenever even if it's once a year. I also have heard of the other steak company who sells & ships & they offer trials of products and full refunds. And you can order small amounts. But being pressured to purchase a case for a high price for something I know nothing about is just points sales. Not impressed & definitely have no Interest in Iowa Steaks after this experience.

crab legs??

We were suckered into spending over $500 . The steaks are VERY thin and NOT much flavor, the crab legs are so tiny. One of my bags of chicken strip had a hole in it. I'm not happy!1

Sales and gurantee

This is in regards to the Iowa Steak Company located at 221 170th ST S, Ste A, in Spanaway, Washington 98387. When the door to door salesmen (Pat) showed up at our garage door on 8/11/16 he was a smooth talker. My husband and I fell for his sales pitch. I told him we were in between paydays and that we just didn't have the money right now to buy any. He kept talking and talking. He brought out all the product he had to sell. He said that he could take a post dated check for the 19th. We ended up purchasing a seafood box for $100 and was told that it was worth $399 and if we were not completely satisfied then we would get our money back. That the product would last 1 year in the freezer. We ate the product the next weekend and they were terrible products. Coming from Maine I do know how to cook seafood. The lobster tails were strange tasting and shrank a lot when cooked (almost 1/2 their size), the scallops shrank to less then 1/2 their size and was mushy with lots of water in the pan, then the shrimp was dirty and I had to devein over 1/2 of them when they were supposed to be fully deveined and ready to eat. I called on the 8/22/16 and spoke with the secretary and told her what had happened. I asked her if there was a money back guarantee and she said yes. She said hang on and let me talk to the boss. I could hear her talking to someone and she came back and asked if we still had any of the product and how I would like to resolve the problem. I told her that I did not have any product left because I was never told that I needed to hang on to any of it in order to get a refund and I would like them not to cash the check or I will put a stop pay on it. She spoke with someone in the background and came back and "you don't have to put a stop pay on the check. Sorry this happened and I will send the check back to you as a full refund. It has not come across my desk yet but when it does I will send it back." She then proceeded to tell me that someone would call me during the week to speak to me about the problem. I didn't trust them and put a stop pay on the check anyways which cost me $31. I received a call on 8/30/16 at 9:16am from a Larry wanting to speak with me and asked that I call the 206-306-4143. I did not have a chance to call him back. On 9/2/16 at 9:16am again he called and left a message and said that the check had been stop paid and there would be legal action if this did not get resolved. I called him back and he was very rude to me stating "if you would have had some of the product we would have exchanged it for you. You can't just eat the product or thow it away and then want your money back." I told him the same thing I told the secretary. Larry said that we should have put the product in a baggie and saved it for them. He said that I still needed to pay for the product and I told him the salesman (Pat) said we had to be completely satisfied or we got our money back. Larry said only if we still had the product. The salesman never specified that when speaking with him on 8/11/16. Now Larry is threatening me with legal action for a check that was stop paid when he already approved of his secretary sending the check back so it was like a full refund because we were not happy with what we received. Larry said "so you are saying go ahead with sending the check in to get collected" I proceeded to say "do what you need to do and I will be contacting the BBB" He said "go ahead".

We should not pay for substandard food.

Update: 09/07/16 received a letter in the mail threatening to turn me into the prosecuting attorney for putting the stop pay on the check. Stating that I did not have the money in the bank and I did it fraudulently. I have proof that I had money in the bank for the check and the letter I sent to the Better Business Bureau regarding this situation

iowa steak company

WANT YOU CREDIT CARD INFO STOLEN???!!!

Representative showed up Drunk wreaking of alcohol. Told us a case price of $150. For the steaks. Gave me a bill for $179.00. I told him NO cancel my order. He changed the price. He told me he was going to call in my credit card. He MADE A COPY SHOWING MY WHOLE CARD ##. Why if it is being called in???? I told him I would rather write a check. It says to make it out to the company...Iowa Steak Company or the sales representatives name. He insisted it was to be made out to cash. He wanted to know if my bank was still open and what bank I deal with. I told him I would make it out to the company and he said no. I told him I am not buying from the company... They need to better look into their sales reps. They are getting ripped of.
Also called customer service and no,one answers the phone.

Refund?? Hah!!!

Gross looking product, super thin cuts, bad reviews and it looks like we will never get our money back!!!!
My Dear husband must have had a weak moment went he bought a case of meat off a truck! (the salesman also tried to get into our house? WTH?)
$120 for food coloring and 15% "solution"???? Blech!
He unfortunately read the reviews AFTER being bamboozled on the porch
I had to pack up the steaks in the cooler and return them to the Akron Location. Returned them easily....very nice man and young woman in the office. They repackaged and gave me a return receipt. All very legit. The man in charge said they would issue a refund check in 5-7 business days, since we paid in cash. 😡
Two weeks later, no check. Surprised? No.
Called the Akron office, was told to call Corporate office. spoke to a lovely gal named Holly who said the Akron office did not send them a copy of the original receipt. Holly gave me an email address to send a photo of the receipt and said she would reply back so I would know she received it. I sent the receipt picture TWICE! No reply.
Calling again today.....what a run around!!!!!

No complaints just great service .. The best steaks in the nation ! Any in who does not enjoy Iowa steaks must not know how to prepare them .. Read the directions on how to cook a tender cut of fresh beef .. Just ask someone if your too stupid to read .. Stop complaining about everything and enjoy life .. Loosers

Bad meat/ poor customer service

I just had a rep stop while outside on my porch. He tried to say that the people up the street who ordered a box full for $499. We're not home and his boss said to get rid of them for $3 a cut! REALLY??? First how nice of the guy to not come back later to those people who "supposedly" ordered them! What an ass! He tried to come in my house to show me the meat I said no show me here on my porch! So he did and he did it fast! I knew it was a scam so I lied and told him my finance keeps all money and cards with him! He kept asking you have no money or checks or anything! I said nope sure don't! Then he tried telling me in the beginning that he had to sell them buy the box but he would give me just 1 case if I could find the money! What a joke! I will never buy from these morons and not will
I allow them on my porch again! Go find a real job and EARN a honest living you thieves! My opinion is that any nice thing said on these sites about this company is coming from either people who work for them or know someone who does. Don't believe the bullshit u hear!! You will answer to someone when your time goes so you better practice what you will say then because god isn't trying to buy your scam or meat assholes!

Bad meat/ poor customer service

I just bought some steaks from the MI office and I have to say, they are wonderful, and melt like butter when you eat em'. I think part of the problem may actually be the people who are cooking the meat. If you don't know how to cook a steak the RIGHT way, well then of course it's going to taste bad and come out like leather. All I'm saying is that I will definitely be ordering from them again. On another note, the 2 guys that sold me my steaks were very good sales reps..
