Kayak is biasing booking.com as the lowest rate - by excluding city taxes from booking.com when they show rates but including them in all of the other suppliers. This is very misleading because they present booking.com as the lowest price and lower than the other OTAs but when you click thru you see notes that are hard to find that the booking.com rates do not include city taxes - so the booking.com rate is not the lower rate but the same as the others. I read that booking.com bought kayak so this is a terrible bias for their own company and deception to the consumer. Here are examples on trips i was shopping for :Hilton Garden Inn Chicago Magnificent Mile: check in 4/25- check out 4/29/

all the major OTAs have rate of $172 + $27 tax per night. BUT booking.com and kayak( using booking.com) show taxes of $20 instead of $27. Only when you click to book do you find out that the taxes are the same $27. So for the 4 nights i was going – this looks like $28 less but it is the same rates.
Same deception at the Inn of Chicago, Dana Inn Chicago and Best Western Chicago for another stay i was looking for on 4/10.


I wot use kayak again - there are plenty of other hotel comparison sites that don't deceive consumers and bias their own products.
