Ripped off and Soon to be Homeless
I have read testimonials from other clients of this law firm and have found that theirs is almost exactly the same as mine. I hired KEL to defend me during foreclosure proceedings, and I, like so many others, have fallen victim to this law firm, being charged a ridiculous amount of money. Full of fine promises and reassurances upon the initial consultation, I believed that I would have the representation I desperately needed to save the property I was trying to own. I can't tell you how many different paralegals, not lawyers, I was shifted to during their so called defense. I couldn't tell you what either of the lawyers who were supposedly working on my case looked like, since I never met them face to face. Of course, if I were late making the required payments, my phone and email were bombarded with correspondence. I had to include my partner's income as well, since I didn't have enough money on my own to be considered broke. There were hearings and court dates I had not even been advised of, much less present for. Even though I provided substantial amounts of documentation proving allegations made by the Plaintiff, or property owner, were completely false, it's as if the attorneys and paralegals just agreed with whatever claims were made instead of actually protecting my best interest. Then I had to pay more for the filing of Chapter 13, in which KEL included my student loan debt, which I am pretty sure cannot be included or satisfied by filing bankruptcy. I would continuously call and email with no correspondence, and since my bankruptcy payments were made so high, the amount changed at least 3 times, when my partner lost his job and I changed jobs, I fell behind, and was told that KEL couldn't do anything to assist me, only offering to convert it to Chapter 7. After my bankruptcy was dismissed, I spoke with another attorney, attempting to stop the sale date on my home and try to refile 13. After reviewing the case, I was advised that KEL made a huge mess full of mistakes, and it was probably in my best interest to walk away. I also received correspondence from the Trustee, unusually located in Tennessee, as to where the money paid had been distributed, and KEL took over $2100. Grand total of $6,000 paid to this firm, and my house has since been auctioned and I am left completely wiped out with no where to go with my children. I really want to see justice served and reimbursement made to myself and the many others who have been worked over by this so called firm, and urge anyone doing research on them or the new firm they have opened since complaints and fines have been put in place, to call someone else, someone legitimate.
