Downward Spiral

I have worn Levi branded jeans for several decades, buying a half dozen pairs at a time. Even as the quality of material and manufacturing declined, I continued to purchase them because they were always available and had a good fit.
Now that it has come time to buy more, I find that there is not a retailer in my area that stocks the 517 boot cut. While searching out where to purchase, I have found that Levi Strauss has decided to eliminate two of the belt loops, leaving only 5 instead of the 7 they had before.
That, for me, is the last straw. I will be purchasing another brand from here forward.

poor quality

These last two pair of Levis I bought are trash...backside ripped on the left pocket, my wife thought it was my fault and she mended them...a week later I bent over yo pick up a small box and I couldn't believe it...Rippppp the 8" rip aside of the right back pocket.
These are only a few weeks old...I used to deliver Levis when I worked for Roadway Express. Roadway pick them up I believe was in Mission Texas...they were heavy and very good quality.
It amazes me when companies buy out other companies and change the formula and believe folks won't notice the difference.
They try and suck ever last cent out the purchased company and then leave it in a state of disaster.
I have done some research and am going with Carhartt. I bought their work boots and like them so I figured maybe there jeans are good also. I wrote to them and explained my issues, they wrote back saying any problems with their jeans to contact them right away.
Time will tell.

Levi's uses substandard denim

Back in the good ol Days Levi's jeans were the best now they are absolute junk my favorites are the 569 jeans which you can't keep belt loops in anymore they currently rip out the knees are constantly ripping out the fabric is so thin after 6 months use that you can practically rip through it with your fingers such a shame with a name like Levi's I would buy a pair of Wranglers now before a pair of Levi's anymore I'm disgusted I've got 6 pairs of ripped out Levi's in my drawers I'm done

Unpredicable sizing

I have two pair of Levi's 510 Super Skinny Jeans that I ordered online from Macy's about five years ago. Both were made in Vietnam, but the size of one pair appears to be 29/30 even though both are marked 30/30. No big deal, though. I can still wear them both.

Well, last week I ordered two more pair, and today they arrived. What a disappointment. One pair was made in Mexico, and the other was made in Nicaragua, and neither is super skinny. The leg opening on both is a good inch wider than on the two pair from five years ago. These new ones feel baggier, too, with more of a straight leg. And the fabric feels thin and cheap.

I am sending them back, and if I ever buy Levi's again, it will be in a situation where I can try them on and check their quality.

Maybe Levi's should just file for Chapter 13. The company's production values certainly seem bankrupt.

poor quality

Levi's jeans made these days are absolute garbage. What happened to the quality? I wore levi's jeans all my life and can NEVER remember a pair wearing out in 2 MONTHS. The people running levi strauss and co. these days should be held accountable, do they even have a quality control department anymore???????? THANK GOD they don't make cars. Get your act together before you're all out of a job. Mr. Strauss must be rolling in his grave!

poor quality

I have been a dedicated Levi blue jean pants man for 40 yrs.But the quality has gotten so bad, that Im going to switch brands. The pants are half the thickness. They constantly rip after a short time at the back pocket. My last 5I pairs of 505 regular fit jeans wore out so quick, I had to buy more in 1 month.Sorry, but I cant afford to buy 5 pairs a month.

poor quality

I just bought three new pairs of Levis carpenters they didn't even make it a week and all have rip's at the tops of the back pockets. I have been in Levis for 20 years think its time for a change. I still have my old pairs that are ten years or better they have some tin spots in the knees but are still stronger then the new junk they make now.

poor quality

I am happy to read that I am not the only one who has noticed the decline of Levi's products. My son likes the fit of the Docker's pants they make but the knees wear through amazingly fast. I bought a pair of 505's and was shocked at how cheap they feel. The thread count per square inch must have been changed to increase profits (since the price is still way high). I actually thought the pants had some type of stretch material in them at first but the tag said "100% cotton". It was then I realized that the weave has been altered and, as a result, the pants are thinner and the material flimsy. Why would the owners of Levi's cheapen an American classic this way? If you don't want to make them in the US, don't. But for heavens sake don't put the Levi's name on this trash. Maybe Warren Buffet could buy Levi's and save the company from itself? Someone mentioned Carhartt and I intend to give them a try for my next pair of pants. Anything would be better than the current product put out by Levi's. They are just coasting on their old reputation but that won't last forever.
