We have never received our 20.00 gift card for reward

My ex-husband (James Frances Herzig Jr.) and I divorced 8 years ago. We divided our credit cards and my ex took the Lowe's credit card and at the time it had $150.00 on it. We were divorced on April 17, 2006. It is in the divorce decree that the Lowe's card was his. He is now deceased as of June 17, 2013. In the meantime, I have not seen nor heard anything about a Lowe's credit card for 8 years. This July 17, 2014, I applied for a Direct Plus College Parent Loan for my son and it was denied. I have perfect credit and I called letting them know it was a mistake. They shared with me that it was a Lowe's credit card for $1,962.00 balance that never got paid and it hit my credit report. I was completely shocked and devistated by the unfairness of it all. I never heard a word from the Lowe's credit card company and then I find 8 years later I'm responsible for paying for my dead ex-husbands charges. I need this off of my credit report. I have perfect credit in the 800's and I have never had a mark against me. I haven't been sent a letter one, what the charges are or anything for 8 years. This is so unjust and awful. When I called the Lowe's credit card company I was very mistreated. I do not know what to do at this point. My phone number is 816/507-2738 and my name is Rena Herzig. I need this off my credit report - this is unbelieveable to me that Lowe's would do something like this.

I have had a Lowe's credit card for about 3 years. They upped my credit limit from 5
$500 to $900 so I could buy a lawnmower.I paid on time every month and I just paid the whole thing off. I just received a letter saying that they got my credit score and it was to low and they have closed my account. I called and they said they didn't care if I paid off their card and made payments on their card on time it was because of my other credit cards. I think they stink and I will never go into that store again and I will not get any of my friends business. They could care less about their customers. We are just numbers and I think their practice is really illegal. I agree they were fine until GE Money took over it. Never again.

lowes credit cards are bogus. they don't want people who need credit to have their cards. I know, it sounds crazy, but it's true. if you need credit (as most middle and low income people do at some point in their lives, if not more frequently in this economy) they don't want you as a card holder. if you miss a payment, by a day even, you get assesed a fee that they are not willing to waive, despite your history of on-time payments. This credit card is just a short step above a pay-day lending outfit. Beware. don't get the card. PAT M
