Hi! My name is Sourangshu Raha. I had booked a round trip ticket for my mother-in-law, Sampa Bhattacharjee, for July 28, 2012 from Kolkata to Boston through makemytrip. The MakeMyTrip Booking ID is US1207B00783. As per her itinerary, she had to travel from Kolkata to Dhaka via Jet Airways flight no. 9W-274 (PNR-MRSNOT), then from Dhaka to London (Heathrow) via Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight no. BG-17 (PNR-J46HL) and then from London to Boston via American Airlines flight no.AA-155 (PNR-BHOMOU).
However, my mother-in-law was stopped at the Dhaka airport as the flight to London was late by 45 minutes. Even after repeated requests, she was not allowed to board the flight. Initially they promised her another flight but later she was asked to go back to Kolkata, India stating that there were no flights till August 2nd. Nobody paid for her return ticket to Kolkata. My mother-in-law had to pay the ticket amount from her own pocket.
We then requested makemytrip to change the itinerary and issue another ticket from Kolkata to Boston which they did not. Then, I had to book flight for her in another airline at separate expense to come to the US, because it was an emergency. We have talked to makemytrip several times since then and asked for the refund, but no one seems to bother. Each time we call, they assure us about a callback in the next 24 to 48 hours, but no one calls. We have escalated the issue, still no resolution. None of the representatives seem to be knowledgeable enough to answer my queries. The ticket cost $1164. Its a huge amount for me. Please help
