Fraudulent charges on match.com

I have never joined or used any online dating service. I am old and very married, have been married for decades and totally monogamous. Not a bit interested in meeting anyone else!! I have never given anyone permission to use my credit card, and it has been secure. Yet, there were four charges to match.com on my credit card statement last month! Apparently a retail store had been hacked, my data was stolen, and someone used it to set up a fraudulent match.com account. Someone named "Jose" used my name and card number, but set up the account in his name and using passwords known only to him! So, my card was cancelled, my credit card company filed a report, I signed an affidavit, and now, on this next billing statement, match.com is contesting and demanding that I pay the fraudulent charges which were made by some criminal! So they are trying to defraud me too! No way am I paying! So, tomorrow I will finish filing a police report, (I have already filed complaints with the FBI and the FTC), and I guess match.com may also be listed in the report as trying to defraud me. They know it is fraud, but refuse to cancel the account and they demand payment from me. I think this sounds almost like collusion! In my opinion, this company sounds like a scam all the way around, and they must really be in financial trouble if they are stooping to trying to steal from victims of credit card fraud! So, my advice to anyone considering signing up for match.com is: get a hobby instead! Do you want to do business with a company like this? Not a good idea, in my opinion!

Fraulent charges and use of profile

I cancelled my subscription in 2011 and it has been continually renewed until I closed my credit card last week. I had cancelled my subscription through all the steps instructed on the MDC website three weeks after opening it. I met someone and we became engaged; three months later I was charged again the next quarter and after that they continued to charge me and I cancelled it again, again and again in 2011 finally I wrote a letter and mailed it to their headquarters in Dallas. I also called the service center and no one could respond or help me, just reading from a script.

I have not one reply from MDC with all this correspondence to the overcharges and have now filed a complaint with several PCI and governing agencies, the BBB and consumer affairs. I have also been made aware of a group of people filing a class action suit for the overcharges; I hope its successful. Four years of no replies!!! I have also contacted them on their website; as much as two times in the last month; no reply.

I found out yesterday they are still using my profile but I live in a different city. I haven't used the service in 4 years. What a horrible organization and to behave so fraudulently and not even and respond to their email or written mail. What a shame, I would be embarrassed to be the CEO of that company.

Fake Match.Com Member Profile

Newyearbless7854 was a registered member on match.com who communicated with me and caused me to renew a Membership for 1 Month only to find out this member was a scam to get money frrom seniors. An email address of [email protected] was provided before the member dropped out;however after having an investigation by Sppokeo, I found this member had no real name, address, or phone anywhere in the US. Would like to get my $24.95 refunded from Match.Com My membership has been cancelled by me.
