Horrible Company to work with!

I signed up thinking it was a good deal. $1 a month for amazing better products but little did I know the lady did not tell me that I would be charged $55 a month if I didn't purchase anything!!! I tried canceling June of last year and the lady on the phone said it was all taken care. A year later and I find out because my dumb ass doesn't keep a eye on my account they have been still charging me!! All they can do is say I understand Its been taken care of and hang up !!!

If you had a bad experience - its because you didn't listen

I have been a customer of Melaleuca for over 16 years. I do not build a business - I don't make any money from Melaleuca. I just love the products that much. They have helped my son with his asthma and weight loss and my daughter with her headaches.

Those that complain about the cancelation fee or the credit card billing never took the time or simply did not have an enroller that explained the detail of the membership. You are a consumer so therefore you have to do YOUR research. You cannot believe what everyone tells you. That's on you. To cancel all you have to do if you read the membership is call up, let them know you are canceling and that you are submitting your cancelation form. They need the form or a written paper with your signature as to your request to cancel ie; not happy with the products, I don't like the company, I don't care about safer products, I enrolled because I am easily pressured into things and didn't think before I signed up as a customer....whatever your reason - sign it and date it and email it or fax it in. I have had friends who joined and canceled with absolutely no problem. When I was moving I put my account on hold for two months with absolutely no problem. And Melaleuca nor any other company can bill you without your consent - which you give when you enroll for the back up order - they do not have mind reading capabilities to know what your brand new credit card number is. You are absolutely lying if you say that a company, any company, somehow got your 3 week old credit card and charged it. I work in the financial industry. What could have happened is that if it is linked to your expiring card your credit card company may be routing and linking and mapping the two cards so therefore any spending and auto-payments set up on your old card are now being routed to the new card. Do your research and stop blaming companies for your lack of knowledge. Assumption is one of the worst diseases in the world.

It's easy to cancel - maybe not as easy as clicking a button but next time you decide to enroll as a member of a company or service that you are away requires a monthly order, if you don't want to commit then don't do it. If you want to try it and then cancel later make sure that YOU YOURSELF have done your research and followed the rules of canceling and YOU YOURSELF are not relying on hear-say. If you call them they are always nice - they are always willing to help and they have millions of customers so your little membership of $60 a month in product is not going to kill their business if you go away.

If you read into most of the comments and most of the issues - the issue actually lies with the person not doing what they are supposed to in order to cancel and then they want to get all pissed off and bash companies.

If you are going to enroll and give your credit card to anyone -better make sure you know what you signed up for. Granted some people lie about it and some people try and get you to enroll in order for them to make money but ultimately it is your responsibility to read up on everything. And Melaleuca doesn't hide anything. You can log into your account and it gives you all the details, requirements and benefits of being a customer as well as what you need to do to cancel.

Suck it up peeps and start taking responsibility for what you enroll in rather than always blaming a company. You made the choice to commit - now do your work to uncommit. Its really that easy.

Melaleuca

Melaleuca has found a way to charge my new credit card without me EVER giving them the numbers. This card was issued 3 weeks ago but they claim that it has been on file since 2008 (4 yrs ago) The CC numbers on the new card were not even issued in that year. This is really scary that i can close a credit card, get issued a new one but this company can still charge me. So i called the bank and they verified that the numbers were manually entered by a human. Hmmmm this company stinks. And to Big Boy1 who stated that they don't need my money.... i beg to differ, if you wrongfully charge enough people 70 bucks you can be a billion dollar company real soon. I've had enough!

Do your research

I enrolled with Melaleuca on 1-7-2012 and because I am still new I like to search the Internet for all the information that I can find regarding this company. I am amazed at the amount of incorrect information and blatant lies that are posted on here. I am 100% happy and thrilled to be a customer and business builder with Melaleuca.

Although I have only been with the company a little over two months I have ordered numerous times and love their products and have also made a decent amount of money for the hours I have put in! I would also like to note that the prices are fair and even cheaper than name brand products they do not work half as well in most cases.

Melaleuca is upfront on all the details of becoming a customer and/or business builder. You receive all of the facts during the overview, follow up email with attached slides of overview and in the agreement that you sign to enroll.

Melaleuca is not an MLM nor is it a pyramid scheme. I will say that I can see how one might consider it a pyramid like shape but in reality all business are and for a good reason. Pyramids are the strongest structure dating back to Egyptian times. If you look at Walmart from the CEO down to the door greeter - pyramid!

As for the claim that orders are shipped without notice that is a complete lie. When you sign up you are told your options and back up orders are explained to you.

Also when you sign up with Melaleuca you are not under any contract and can cancel at any time following the simple and detailed steps that are given to you on day one.

Melaleuca stands behind all of their products with a 100% satisfaction empty bottle refund policy.

There are more truths that need to be added here but it would take many pages to address all of the incorrect information listed in the complaints on this site.

If you would additional information on Melaleuca or think that I might be able to assist you with a problem you are having please feel free to contact me at 419 855-2353. I would be happy to help and correct any misconceptions regarding Melaleuca.

Regardless of the income that is possible with this company I will always be a customer due to their amazing products and what they have done for the health of my family.

P.S. Melaleuca has been in business for 25 yrs with a A BBB rating, 95 percent customer reorder rate and that would just not be possible if all of the complaints on here where true. I would advise that you research a company using reputable sites such as the BBB and other watchdog groups vs. complaint boards as you cannot please all of the people all of the time.

You are in for big surprises, check out how this company goes after thier own people in court. The actual court documents are a matter of public record, Good news is that they lost .This company is a very BAD company to get involved with. Here in Chicago. the high level directors are sending thier downlines to the malls to solicit people, telling them they are doing a photo shoot under a false name, they have them come to thier location due a makeover, take a photo and then try to sign them up for a 65.00 monthly commitment.Soliciting in a mall is Illegal. They were thrown out of a flea market for doing the same thing told they woul have to buy a table like everyone else .(40.00) a cost you would think they could afford if they were successful. After being removed they continued to solicit out in front and again needed to be told you can not do this or be arrested.Thier game is over now because all malls have been given thier names and game. And yes Corporate is aware of this and did nothing. This is a very dangerou company to get involved with. There are many excellant products made pure without the unprofessional, unethical nonsense to deal with . anyone wants to get into companies that act like this shows they are lacking morals and decency themselves.

AVOID

Wow, it's interesting to hear the opinions of the above. My two cents worth is also my opine. I've used these products since May 2011. My house is now cleaned with products made in the USA, I am not afraid to breathe in while I am using them AND unlike ANY inexpensive store bought product that I have used, THEY CLEAN!!
I also feel great after taking the vitality pack. The proof is in the blood work too. My cardiologist asked me what I had been doing differently. After telling her, she wants to know more. The only thing I changed was taking the Vitality 50+ complete. As far as a scam, I have made money, not thinking this is a get rich quick plan but as I share with others, I do get paid. I like that idea. Maybe many of the negatives are due to people telling others they can makes tons of moola while the truth is, you might...while sharing these great products with those you care about and becoming more healthy; physically, environmentally and financially.

Scam

First of all -- what I stated in my first comment is true. I took the right course by calling my bank without delay. I was not in fear of any repercussions from my bank because I was telling the truth. When I called the bank I immediately had my debit card account closed and was issued a new one.

The bank investigated the charges and my account has been credited back the $61.32. As to not calling the company -- there was no phone number listed with the charge on my statement. When I tried to get a phone number by looking up the name and city online I found there were several business addresses and phone numbers listed with Melaleuca in the business name. I did not have the time to pursue each business with nothing more than my bank statement. The best recourse is to always notify your financial institution immediately!!

How and why the charges got on my statement is still unknown. If someone stole my information then I'm lucky I caught the mistake before any other charges started to appear (another good reason for contacting your bank ASAP). Also...(and thank you for your advice) after calling my bank I immediately did exactly as your last paragraph suggested and my other accounts have shown no charges that weren't made by me.

I will admit to not knowing who made the charges and I should give the company the benefit of the doubt. The only thing I have to say about that is...whoever did it had to use a name and address other than mine. Why would this great company have the practice of allowing charges to be made to a debit / credit card whithout either the name or address matching with what is on record. I order things online once in awhile and most of the time it will state that the name and address must appear exactly as it is on the account. That said -- the $61.32 was back in my account in 2 days. Melaleuca obviously recognized the mistake after the bank brought it to their attention.

Okay...enough said. I'm not going to respond to anymore comments on the subject because - honestly - I just don't have the time. If I hadn't received an email about your comment I wouldn't be wasting my time now. I originally posted my comment after doing an online investigation on Melaleuca, Inc and came across the postings.

Scam

There is a lot of your complaint that does not ring true. First Melaleuca is a 25 yr old company with a A BBB rating and recipient of numerous other business awards. It is not likely that they picked your credit card information off line and randomly charged it $61.32. (There annual sales last year were over $948 million and they have a 95% reorder rate.)

Second, if my card had a charge from a company that I had never heard of, the first thing I would do is contact the company and get all of the details regarding the charge. It is hard to believe that you did not do this. I would advise you to do so right away and find out why and for what they charged your card for because your bank will. If you bank finds out that you or another authorized card holder signed an agreement they will not refund the money and they may take additional steps for the filing of a false claim.

If your above claim is true I would advise that it is more likely that someone has stolen your information and used it for their own personal benefit and that you should check on all of your other financial documents and accounts right away.

AVOID

Guys, you don't understand the concept behind the business. After you have a solid organization, which doesn't take much to build if you are good at communicating with people (most people suck at this).

Once you have a solid organization, the last thing you are worry about is the miserable $70 because you are making easily a couple thousand dollars every month.

So, don't blame on Melaleuca your incapacity to conduct business. 95% of Americans are FOLLOWERS... not leaders. You need to be a leader to make this business succeed. I've made hundred of thousands with this company and about to reach 1MM very soon. 9 to 5 worker mentality will not make you a penny in this business, so keep flipping burgers at McDonalds, you don't know any better obviously.

Scam

I tend to believe the complaint is true!! I just did a bank rec on my checking account and found a charge of $61.32 payable to Melaleuca, Inc. Idaho Falls, ID. I never even heard of this company before seeing this charge. I checked with my husband and of course he also did not order anything from these people so I then called the bank to report the charge and have it investigated.
After calling the bank I decided to do an online search of the company. I found several different addresses and phone numbers listed under their name. Also found numerous complaints made against them as well.
As I said earlier -- I never heard of Melaleuca, Inc before today, but I can honestly say that this company fraudulently debited my bank account and scammed me for $61.32. Just imagine how many people don't catch or questioned these unauthorized charges to their accounts -- wow...a person or company could get rich quick with this kind of scheme!!
