In April 2016 I became very sick and filed for STD through Metlife. It was approved. In September 2016, the same problem reoccurred, only worse. I filed for STD. The claim sat in a worker's inbox for FIVE months. I repeatedly called customer service to check the status and was told it was being looked at.They denied my claim. I had both a PCP and Urologist stating that I was very stressed and sick which led to serious kidney problems. It might not have been so bad except I lost a kidney 2 years earlier. The nightmare started. I appealed their decisions each time. The case then went to a new team. The new team denied the claim. The "Metlife Payrolled Doctor" called my doctors and tried to bate them to say anything that would make the denial legitimate. This has been ongoing since September 2016!!! They will not admit they approved a claim for the EXACT illness in April but denied it in September. These people are unethical and unprofessional. They lie and do anything they can to make sure they get a big bonus. For every claim they deny, they get a bonus. Meanwhile, we hardworking, HONEST people are deceived. I want my money. I have not had a paycheck in almost a year. Am about to lose my home, car etc. since I am a single mom with a son in college. Being a school teacher doesn't allow me to make alot of money. I paid for my premiums monthly so that if I ever got sick, I would be ok. That is not true with MetLife. How can you sleep at night? Karma will not forget your addresses and you WILL have to answer for your shrewd dishonesty one day. I have TWO doctors stating that I am sick and have gotten more sick this year. I was diagnosed with Hepatitis C that I got from a student. The treatment, Harvoni, is $1000 per dose and it takes 93 doses to cure the virus. hmmmm with ZERO income due to your greed, I can't take my meds. Metlife tried to use the excuse I didn't go to the doctor enough to be sick. Welllllll it takes money to go to the doctor.
