The best advice is NEVER buying a timeshare anywhere. It is a scam and the so-called timeshare you buy is sold over and over again to other people. It is very difficult to sell your timeshare now and renting isn't in the deal. It will cost you more to buy a timeshare and maintenance fee than to rent a hotel room or a full ownership of a condo. We asked Monarch to take back out time share that we paid $18,000 for in lieu of foreclosure. We stopped paying our dues, but they just sent us to Collections. They won't deal with us at all, saying it's a Collections issue now.
Once you purchase a time share, there's no way to give it back to them.
They want our maintenance fees. They even increased our maintenance fees a couple years ago by $50 because others weren't paying their due. So instead of maybe lower their costs, they pass the bad debt onto us.
This turned out to be a BAD investment.
