Hard to check balance

I bought MoneyPak cards for a family member to load their green dot card. They said they are having problems!
I don’t have their green dot card! I am just the purchaser of the MoneyPak card. I have tried several avenues, websites, and 800 numbers to check balance of MoneyPak cards and can’t find a way. Why is this not an option???????
