Fraud and harassment

Nationstar just got caught taking pictures of our house. Go figure the guy drove off when I came out side. We aren't going anywhere! We will fight for what we own! Our lawyer warned us about your nonsense and illegal behavior of locking people out of their house... You will certainly have legal recourse!

Forced Flood/Flood Gap Coverage

As of 10/1/16 my mortgage has been sold off from HSBC to Nationstar Mortgage. I do not have an escrow account. Immediately after researching them on-line I knew this was not a reputable mortgage company with values and integrity not only by reading countless complaints from their customers but from reading that they were involved in a Class Action Lawsuit that just recently settled in 2015.

From 2008 - 2015 Nationstar was wrongfully placing forced flood, flood gap and/or wind on their customers. Nationstar Defendants did so primarily to receive “kickbacks” in the form of commissions from the Assurant Defendants. Plaintiffs also allege that the way in which LPl (Lender Placed Policy) Policies were obtained and placed caused the rates and the amount of coverage to be excessive.

Nationstar is now sending me threatening letters claiming they are going to place forced flood/flood gap coverage on my apartment.

After calling them in an attempt to resolve this matter and prevent my mortgage account from having a forced flood escrow account placed on it and sending them copies of my co-op's master flood policy I am still in limbo and I am anticipating a subsequent letter stating that the forced flood coverage will be in effect soon. I called and spoke with three different reps - they all told me three different amounts they claim my apartment is under-insured ranging anywhere from $76,000 - $108,000K. I could not get a straight answer from all 3 reps and one named Chataka actually said she was going to place a "research request" on my account because, and I quote her, "the system is all messed up". For the record Chataka promised she would call me back in a few days with an answer but never did.

Unfortunately refinancing does not look like a solution or a means to an end because Chase, Bank of America, and Citimortgage all sold off loans to Nationstar - HSBC was not the only one.

Good luck to everyone and hopefully we can collectively put a stop to Nationstar's criminal business practices.

Bank withheld Escrow overage now check wrongly cashed by someone

I sold my home in September of 2012. Since then I have been owed an overage of $4000. My wife and I have been calling them every week regarding the whereabouts of our money. They kept saying: "we are issuing another check, it will take 14 days" Which brings us to 12/05. I finally got fed up and called and persisted. I was transferred between 5 different people who didn't know anything. When I made it to the last person, they stated that the check had already been cashed back in October. I requested a copy of the check, which they reluctantly sent. I received a barely legible copy which had mine and my wife's name on the front and the amount. On the back there was one signature, which was obviously fraudulent. We are unable to read where the check was supposedly cashed.

Nationstar mortgage states that they do not know where the check was cashed, but they can no longer help us, they told us to report it to the police, which I did but the police cannot help me because I do not have the bank that it was cashed at.

Now I have to hire an attorney and will probably never see my money.

My loan was originally transferred to these idiots without my choice as its a regular practice.
