Equity Loan Dept

I filed for a home equity line of credit on about 25 Aug 2019 and received feedback via email, phone and regular mail. I answered and returned all required email within 48 hrs and usually the same day. Today is 08 Oct 2019 and I'm still waiting. My home is paid off, it is free and clear of any mortgages. There are no insurance, flood or fire issues. The amount of the Equity LOC is less than 10% of the home value and is in a neighborhood of high value homes in a well managed mid-West community. My FICO score is above average 800 range, I have been continuously employed for more than 38yrs and retired. I have and have had income in the top 10%, I have a sterling history of loan repayments with NFCU and no credit blemishes. There were no issues with the Title or any other encumbrance that would have made this other than a regular home equity LOC. But I'm still waiting. I tried calling the final closing persons desk, but like almost every call to your Equity Dept they are not at their desk.

It seems impossible to get your Equity Processing Dept to function in step with what other similar institutions do for the same product.

The performance of the loan's processor supervisor [email protected] appears to be hands off. After I alerted the loan processor that this matter was proceeding slowly, having dealt with her vacation excuse, her excuse that the person covering for her messed up, that she was sorry that she missed my calls or I missed hers. I notified her supervisor hoping that the matter would gain some reasonable momentum. It got S-L-O-W-E-R. The latest excuse - it's the closing departments fault, not my problem (from original load processor).
NFCU needs to know that it's Equity lending is suffering from some sort of largess and poor performance in it's deliverables. Their phone and wirting skills seem good, their performance is excuse laden and unacceptable for an institution that prides itself in supporting its membership.

I've been a very satisfied member of NFCU for more than 40 yrs, everything about NFCU in other areas is responsive, I'd say wonderful. I chose to use an Home Equity LOC as an instrument to more economically manage my financial needs. NFCU is well below par in this area and I suspect needs more than a word to do better. A thank you on day 45.

Mortgage Department Incompetence

I have been a loyal Navy Federal Credit Union customer for over thirty years. I recently paid off my home mortgage with NFCU and I have to say that getting the final payment straight with them was a nightmare. I paid my mortgage manually every month for 14 years. About three weeks before the last payment was due I got a call from a lady in the mortgage department who said that since I had more than enough money in my escrow account to cover the last payment, the last payment would be deducted from my escrow account. Fine with me. Then, I got a letter a few days later that stated that the last payment for my mortgage would be automatically deducted from my checking account by the 5th of the next month. Since I had never set up automatic mortgage deduction payments from my checking account to begin with I was rather curious as to why they randomly decided to just deduct the money, especially after the lady calling and telling me they were going to take the last payment from my escrow. So I called the bank. This time I got a rather rude man who insisted that I had indeed approved automatic mortgage payment deductions from my checking account for my mortgage almost exactly one year to the day I before I got the phone call about my final mortgage payment, and they were going to get that money because I had approved it. I tried to no avail to explain that I had always paid my mortgage manually for 14 years and had never set up any kind of automatic deduction, but he would not hear of it. He insisted that the automatic deduction approval was done online by me or my wife and he further stated that it was impossible for anyone but me or my wife to set automatic deductions because NOBODY at NFCU had access to my account to do so. What a load of crap. Anyway. I then asked what they intended to do with the left over escrow funds and he stated that they would mail me a check. I asked him if they could just roll the escrow funds into my checking account and he said he would send me a form to fill out so that they could roll the funds over. He did send the form, I filled it out the same day and my wife both faxed and mailed a copy to the bank using the information provided on the form. That was two weeks ago. They did make the final payment from my escrow account after all and did not automatically deduct any funds from my checking account. Then they sent me a check for the remaining escrow funds instead of rolling the money into my checking account. This story would be funny if it was not so sad. The mortgage department at Navy Federal Credit Union is so jacked up it is not even funny. Even if I buy another home I would never ever consider doing business with the mortgage department there again.

$50.- minimum balance requirement

Navy Federal Credit Union is forcing members to maintain a 50.- minimum balance or do some form of business with them. If the member doesn’t do that, they are deducting a $3.- fee quarterly until their balance is zero and then closing their account. This does not seem fair. I thought that they are a non profit organization designed to help its members. This is outrageous.

Restrictions on accounts/investigation

I have several accounts with NFCU. 21 days ago NFCU began an investigation into my savings and checking account, due to wires coming into the accounts. The money is for family support. Now they have made a Fiasco of it. I am unable to receive any information concerning what the issue is/was. which wire is in question, how far along they are in the investigation, etc, Asst mgr/manager, President of the company supervisors and customer service are of no help to me. I have been advised that I will be informed when the investigation is complete? Why is there any investigation, the money is needed for family support, I am a senior citizen. I have been a member for 12 years, had a car loan, have a credit card, and my grand children also have accounts there. transactions are being returned, and fees are being charged, due to not being able to move any money. This entire mishap is very burdensome to me, it is causing me to be very ill. Please help me.

Loan

I applied for a debt consolidation Loan with Collateral worth well over the asking amount. Upon applying the woman said we were approved providing the following.
"Your application is still pending. The Consumer Lending Team would like to advise that conditional approval is granted for $------- pending that the following is completed:
Please be advised that we will update the application to reflect a consolidation loan. Provide a list of the creditors, account numbers, and amounts you wish to pay off with this loan. Any creditors included in this loan will need to be paid off in full. Navy Federal Credit Union does not allow partial pay downs on existing debts."
After supplying the info they advised me that my loan is now denied due to my collateral is not sufficient. When i called some ding bat put in the wrong vehicle as collateral. So I had to resubmit. then i was immediately denied. With no reason this time. I am so over their incompetence. We will be taking our business after 20 years to Langley Federal Credit Union. OVER IT!

Samantha in Customer Service

My credit card was stolen and there were some charges on there that did has a real bad attitude to begin with. I advised her that there was an issue with the care. This puta bonyatanot belong to me and I was nit going to pay for because I put a stop on my card. Well I called Navy Federal Credit Union and a call taker n acted like so what. Sbe refused to help me.amed Samantha picks up the line and. Samantha said it was my problem and if I did not like it too bad. Samantha said if I did not like the no customer service that I was being given I could go to a branch and speak to a manager there. She said that there's nothing that she would do. When I asked her for her manager she rudely hung up on me like a Puta bonyata. My advise to anyone is not to deal with Navy Federal Credit Union. They are a rip off. They hire these bonyatas from the street that don't know what they are doing. The company is being runner by a bunch of morans so called retired people from the military. Again I have felt with these morans for years and they do not know how to treat anybody with respect. I will not bank with a company or do business with a company who treats their customers like dirt. Samantha may treat her pimps like that but don't ever treat anyone like a piece of trash like she is. Samantha fits right in with NFCU. NFCU needs new management and they need to FIRE all of the employees there including Cutler Dawson l, he is the first one that needs to be replaced. NFCU puts the Military to shame. NFCU thinks they are better than anyone else. Well I got news for them. Change is coming to America and there will be changes made at NFCU. I have been a long time member and share holder of NFCU and no one tells me that can not help me. If it was not for us customers, members or share holders people like Samantha would not have a job. Like the Donald would say, Samantha YOUR FIRED!
