I called Nike and returned a pair of sneakers that showed premature wear and tear due to poor design & material used. I buy Nike products all the time as I have 4 children who all play sports and grow out of sneakers quickly. They said they would analyze to see if there was a manufactures defect, but this is not the issue. The issue is the design and material used ~ this is proven by Nike themselves as these shoes are no longer offered and their other shoes now have an added underlayer to reinforce the toe area preventing the wear and tear in question. So they themselves have corrected the design, but those people like myself who purchased the poorlly designed shoes from last August are out of luck! This is completely unacceptable. Nike is a large enough corporation making enough money to reimburse consumers when Nike makes a mistake and never should have put this shoe on the market at all. Since filing the complaint I've purchased 2 additional pairs of Nike athletic shoes as I was certain they would find my claim valid and refund me the purchase price, rather I received a letter stating my claim was basicall invalid. Shame on them. I will call their corporate dept to further state my case and continue to try to receive a refund, but wanted to report this issue in addition. If it's not resolved I will not buy Nike products in the future.
