Guy named Anthony Church called my brothers phone from a local number. He told my brother that he had some very important certified letters that needed to be delivered to him and were important. Since i was waiting for some IRS documents to come in he thought that was them and he gave me the number MR. Church gave him. I called 888-349-0891 and it was a lie he was a bill collector for a past payday loan i had forgotten back in my young age. He was very threatening but i told him i was more than willing to pay this since i didn't want this on my credit report. Made a settlement arrangement with him for a fix amount. (when dealing with this collector always go low because they will counter like 40% of the total) I told him i would make a first payment and then a week later the rest which was agreed upon. When i hung up on him i called the original loaner and traced the loan being sold to various companies to this one so i knew it wasn't a scam. Once verified i called and made a payment. The following week when i called to make the second payment they told me that they had already tried it for the full amount and it bounced so they tried half and it went though! I was mad and told them i never authorized that payment. They gave me a bullshit story of how i did and that they had it on recording. They were very rude and unprofessional in explaining it to me but i went ahead and made the last payment so i wouldn't have to deal with them again. They still have not sent me an email on the agreement nor have i received any letters from them.
ADVICE: when dealing with them use extreme caution and use prepaid credit card when making payments so they don't take any more than you authorized.

Northeast Mediation
They call you on a local number first. If they get nowhere, they call your other family members or acquaintances or job or anything they can find until they find someone that knows you and they ask something like: "do you know: (name) if (name) will be at a specific location at such and such time to receive certified papers or documents". The voice will give a number to call and when you call, that changes even the caller ID you are calling or reroutes to Northeast Mediation in any number of area codes or states. They are getting one to call about some payday loan or other type loan someone made. Skip tracing tactics or Guido really does show up one day, who knows? Just kidding, I think.

northeast mediation
both my brothers received calls today in reference to documents being dropped off at my home or work today for me to sign. My one brother actually answered the call. The person on the other end told him he was an attorney and that they had our address and my work address and they had left numerous messages for me that they were dropping off papers I needed to sign. I told him this was a scam. This is making me sicker by the moment. My brothers think this is for real. I brought up a website for northeast mediation scams and had my brother read it. I think he gets it now. my other brother were not sure how they have his number. I don't even know it. what can I do. By the way I was at work until 1pm today and nothing was dropped off. I got home at 2 and until 3 nothing was dropped off. help

Fraudulent Debit collections
I actually have 2 different phone numbers to add 855-590-5105 &844-952-7320 who have called both my work and cell phone numbers trying to collect a pay day loan I supposedly defaulted on from a CMG company whom I have never dealt with. Any payday loans I have had are paid in full with supporting documentation. The voice mail left on my voicemail at work was scary from an "Agent" and that I was going to be served with papers to appear in court unless I set up payment arrangements with in the next 24-48 hours. Then I spoke with an Alex Torrant at the 855-590-5105 # who gave me a docket number and told me I owed $712 and then we set up payments. Now they call my cell phone today from the 844-952-7320 stating we needed to get a CC or debit card # to take care of my payment arrangements. I have not had any further contact since Tuesday 09/24/2015. My attorney has been contacted and I was told this was most likely a SCAM since I had no clue of the creditor and the way they were demanding money or a court order would be served at my work or home and that my supervisor had to confirm my identity along with 2 forms of ID. I am sure this is a scam as the same thing happened to me in 2014 and I paid the people $742 which was obviously a scam then to. I did get a receipt but it wasn't a very professional looking receipt now that I am aware of these types of scams.
