inept personnel, looong call waits,

5/26 I turned my tv expecting to watch MLB(222) or NCIS, Los Angele(555) however the screen were black, I began the process of calling Oceanic Cable and was on hold for 25 mins. I got Al who stated I was the only second person to call from Kona about cable problem and that Oceanic needed 4 calls from the same area before they could address the issue. I asked for my account to be credited since I pay extra for the sports channel. Al and I didn't have a good conversation and I was so frustrated I asked for a supervisor. Al stated the supervisor was handling customer calls and did "I want to wait or have him call back". I stated I would wait........10 mins later Bruce comes on the line. Same company line, however he stated he would call back "right away".......it's now an hour later and I have not received a "right back" call. The explaination is that the rain causes outages to which I stated there have been times when it's clear and still outages. Bottom line Oceanic Cable is expensive and less than reliable.

WORST SERVICE IN THE WORLD

Oceanic Cable has a monopoly in Hawaii. The service is the worst I have ever experienced. If you call, you get a recording and are told to leave a phone number. Then they call back in about an hour. Then you get some disinterested "customer service" person who will set up a date, usually in a week or two for the cable repair man to come out. The time they give you is "anytime between 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.". How are working people supposed to sit home all day long waiting for the repair man? Why can't they at least round it out to a three or four hour time slot? The service is so horrible, it is enough to give you heart palpitations dealing with them, and then they don't fix the problem and you have to go through the whole thing again - this after exchanging the box which serves no purpose. Who is listening out there? What can be done?
