Warranty

I received a call from them saying effective January 2020, the OEG is instituting a warranty program on any appliances you have in your house, no matter where you bought them. Thfvxaller specifically said even dishwashers. Yea, right. He stumbled around with what he was saying and I told him to send me the details in a letter so I have them in writing. I fully do not expect to receive this letter. Shameful scammers.

water softener

They knock this 2 sales person ask my Enbridge receipt and specifically said that I am qualified to have a water tank for free after they left they install the tank when I say the next bill it was 59 dollar paying for 10 years .pls. help me I don't want this product in my home .can somebody help us to stop this scammer ?

Sales Pitch not Inspection

OEG employees came to our door representing themselfs as legal inspectors for Ontario not Ontario Energy Group. Them request to look at our furnace. Then they told us that are furnace was to old to pass new laws required and would need to replace. Then produced contracts and information and pressure us into signing for a new furnace with the red herring that our gas prices would be lower with the installation of the new furnace at a special rate. That never occurred. They then talked my husband into installing a new air conditioner in the spring and we signed for that too.

But this was not the end. They came back after they installed the air conditioner and installed an air filltration system to clean the air in our house via the furnace which doesn't work. We are being charged $85,00, $87.00, $84.00 dollars for all this equipent that only half ass works. Also the installation work was horrible ugly holes in our basement walls for outside vents and wires, pipes everywhere in my once uncluttered laundry room.

Then they came back this spring and told us they needed to install a water filter system on our water line which should have been done when they installed the furnace. We refused!! I tried to contact the OEG and they had no knowledge of what was going on and that no one was sent to our home by them. I continued to press the matter and he said we had to call Ontario Energy not them and hung up on us.

I want in on any class action suit against them. We are really sick of them contacting us with this crap!!! I just hang up on them now which is what we should have done in the first place. If I see them at my door I ignore the bell and the knocking. We are done with them!!!

Poor and rude customer service

I unfortunately fell into some real hard times this year and my bills fell behind. One of those bills was my gas bill which includes the payments to Oeg. My gas was shut off in July, I then had a bad accident in July and broke my back but have since been able to pay off the gas bill and have my gas turned back on, how ever my hot water tank did not work and when I called for a service call I spoken to very rudely by a man by the name of Gus Karathanasis. I have since then tried to contact 2 other people and left messages but nobody seems to be interested in helping me settle this issue. I am now behind in my physiotherapy as many of my physio exercises need to be done in the shower for the heat on my back. I feel that I have just been tossed in the trash and feel that it may be time to contact the media and my lawyer. I hope these people realize how much damage they are doing to do many people's lives as I have come to find out myself today.

Misrepresentation

I recently got conned into signing up with Ontario Energy Group to take a new furnace and air conditioner. I am a senior living on a very limited budget, but the sales reps did a lot of posturing to give the impression that they are part of a government program. When I Googled them, I must have mistyped OEB and saw a legitimate government website.
Ultimately as I became more and more suspicious, I realized this company is hot on the consumer watch/complaint sites. However, I did not make the discovery until after the installations were completed.
As things stand, my financial situation is forcing me to sell my house (I had told them as much at the outset) and they assured me that it would increase the equity in my home. The house has virtually no equity as it is and now I have to worry about how this exorbitantly priced contract will affect the sale.
I asked the sales rep if this would incur a lien on the house and she assured me that there would be no lien and that "the realtor will take care of it". In fact there is a now a lien on the house and I am pursuing my complaint through the Consumer Protection Act.
A month after the installation, I called to follow-up on the rebates and air conditioner cover and left five voicemails at their offices in two days simply requesting a call back and they did not get back to me. For all they knew the units could have been on fire, but as the contract mandates that service is to be executed only by their technicians, this is a huge concern.
There are numerous issues, and looking at the internet reviews, there are many other people who have had less than satisfactory dealings with this organization. They are flat out misrepresenting their product, services and credentials.
They are currently under investigation and victims need to contact Consumer Protection with their complaints and statements to bolster the upcoming investigation and litigation. You are not alone, you are protected

BEWARE....ONTARIO ENERGY GROUP (OR EQUIVALENT) HAS OBD ON BADGE AND USES ONTARIO ENERGY BOARD AS THEIR EMPLOYER. OBD DOES NOT GO DOOR TO DOOR!!
I CALLED OBD, THEY HAVE POLICE INVESTIGATIONS AND CHARGES AGAINST THESE GROUPS IN ONTARIO. LOCK YOUR DOOR AND WALK AWAY

misleading/aggressive salespeople scam

NEVER SIGN ANYTHING AT YOUR DOOR THAT YOU CANNOT TAKE TIME TO READ OR RESEARCH!! Here is my ordeal.
On Saturday I had two men come to my door, I didn't open it and told them to go away. They rang the bell and knocked again, so when I opened the door, they said they were working with the government about the new laws for furnace and AC. I stood with the door opened enough to talk with them. They make it sound like this is official government business to do with the energy savings on hydro one's bill. They asked to see a bill, I said no. While one guy took off to see my ac and gas meter, the other one was nicely chatting to me, yet he kept trying to distract me as the other aggressive guy would go over numbers and tell me these "rules". I repeatedly asked for a card or name (can't read it on the badge) and they said after the paper work was done. I said who do you work for. they said they were part of the government. I asked again you pays you. The nice guy said the government doesn't pay us, we work for a company associated with the government that pays us hourly. After "calculating" the numbers after I threw out what I paid on hydro and gas, the guy "calls" head office to see what I would save if I upgraded to the new standard ac/furnace after I paid them (free install of course) I said so every 5 years the rules change and you expect everyone to pay $15,000 for new appliances? I said I wanted to see the paper, give me their names so I could research the company, but they would only do that after I signed the paperwork. I said I wasn't signing anything. After 30 mins with them. A neighbor with a very large dog came to my rescue, which got heated, the men told me to get her off my porch so they could finish with me. I said we were done, I wasn't signing any papers! My neighbor came into my house with her dog and shut the door and waited for them to leave. I called the police, and they said they are a real company, but their sales tactics are less than desirable. just don't open the door. (which I did, but they were persistant). My neighbor got a hand gestered threat by the driver when the men got picked up and sped off when she tried to get a picture. She called the police, but all they said was don't open your door, don't talk to them. I only talked with them because it sounded so government official. Yet that is where they get you. They try to talk fast so you can't understand the numbers, which I was calculating didn't make sense. and they keep pushing you to sign just to get rid of them. I now know why seniors and other people get flustered and sign to be done with it.
