Worked for Me

I have to say I was treated very well at Palm Partners. Detox was comfortable with my own room and medication so I wasn't so sick. I was then given an apartment to use that was very nice. There was a pool on the grounds, volleyball court, smoking area.. I was able to attend classes during the day. There was always an alternative class to attend if I didn't want to go to one or the other. The staff was professional and kind. Some of these kids are just angry because they weren't allowed to act out of line. They try cussing out the staff, spitting on them, ect. I had to hold myself back several times because I wanted to take up for the staff during these times. They were very patient with the attitudes of all clients. There was every kind of therapist, counselor, and class you could imagine. They even provided massages, acupuncture, chiropractors, yoga, gym, ect. The food was decent and brought in by a catering company. I mean... heck if you couldn't take advantage of this place and get sober I don't know where you could. I had tried several other treatment facilities even in Europe and never received the level of care I did at Palm Partners. I would give this place a 10..

False advertisement

Please AVOID this facility ! (palm partners). From the day I called and started making travel arrangements to go I was plain and simply lied to ! Do not let the web site pictures fool u. I promise you that you will see no such things while at the detox or the rehab. I was in serious shock when I arrived. Keep in mind I chose to check in and was hoping to get the help I needed for alcoholism. The detox was crazy. They treated me like a criminal , were disrespectful, degrading and just plain unprofessional. The concealing sessions were a joke. Just kept putting people down! Most people left crying. Was put in a dark dingy room with a pretty unstable person and shared the small dirty bathroom with 5 others. Food was awful and not healthy. I was one of the lucky ones I was moved after 3 days. I thought the worst was over. I was mistaken! I was told from the web site and my counselor that was assigned to me on the phone that there was exercise facilities (gym) pool and daily therapeutic walks on the beach. This was very important to me because exercise helps me both mentally and physically. We pulled in to the driveway of the rehab in front of a garage. To my dismay most everything was run our of this old garage! No joke. All blood pressures and medical treatment and meds where giving in this garage. The food the staff had delivered for all meals at their discretion was given out of the garage to be brought to your room to eat. The room..... Lol what a joke! I was put in with two other girls one of which was on the run from drug dealers that had murdered her boyfriend the week before. Ya made ya feel real safe and stress free! I approached one of the counselors about this and said I was uncomfortable with this situation because I feared for my safety as there was no security there. I was told that this was the case but that was the only space available and I would just have to deal with it. When I inquired about the gym and pool I was told they had relocated and no longer had them facilities. Not even a treadmill! The beach..... Another joke. I was not allowed to go to beach for 1st two weeks because i was told I needed to earn that privilege. I was deceived, lied to, and degraded over and over again while at this facility. The staff was rude and unprofessional. I was not allowed to have my cell phone or use of any phone for the first 2 weeks not even to call my husband or daughter to wish them a happy thanksgiving. I watched two couples have a romantic affair while sneaking in each others rooms I watched cars pull up in front of the rooms down by the road dropping of drugs to other people attending the rehab. Was frightened to say anything about this because of retaliation. The whole experience was horrifying. I left after 12 days, I was more stressed and depressed than I had ever been in my entire life! Please don't let them fool you. This place is a joke! Unprofessional, unorganized and make you feel like your being punished for wanting help. You could tell by the conditions it is nothing but a money racket! Please stay away. I would never want anyone to go through the hell I went through there. I did get the help I needed in extensive out patient therapy locally. And I pray for all those that are fooled by this deceitful organization

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!

I disagree. I came to Palm Partners a few months ago because I was suffering from a very serious addiciton problem and my mom found out about it for me. At first, I refused to go but I realized that I really needed to stop before I died. I stayed 43 days there. They helped me understand why I was addicted, showed me how to be more confident. Relapse was never mentioned, but they showed me how to avoid it. The group counseling, the dancing, exercise, lectures, and more was just what I needed to open my eyes and see how selfish and destructive I was. Don't just take my word, or even the original complainer's word. Do your research first.
