My husband and I have been purchasing the 18 packs of Orville Redenbacher’s Ultimate Butter popcorn weekly and have NEVER had a problem until last night!
I put the bag in the microwave put it on for the usual 2 minutes and it usually comes out perfect every time but not this time. I stayed smelling smoke so I turned around and the microwave was pouring out smoke like crazy!
There was still 1 minute 7 seconds left so obviously I was confused, until I opened the microwave and saw the bag was deformed and not riding or popping any popcorn. The bag had left a horrible deep brown mark on the inside of the microwave. I immediately opened the back door the side door to the garage door, opened it also, smoke was rolling out of our brand new home that we just purchased Oct. 2nd 2022. It now stinks to high Heaven. I immediately cleaned the inside of the microwave with Dawn dish liquid, which didn’t help the smell or the burnt stain. I used a mixture of water/bleach it lightened the stain but the odor was horrid.
I even used an all natural orange peel cleaner still didn’t help the smell or eliminate the smell. Even vinegar and water won’t help the smell. My entire kitchen/living room/ & hallway all smell burnt and I can’t get the smell out!
It’s obvious that the individual pack of popcorn was defective and I’m left trying to figure out how to get the smell out of my microwave because everything I hear in there smells burnt and just continues to make the house smell like we’ve had a fire! I’m so very upset about the situation.
