Unauthorized credit inquiry

PayPal has made an unauthorized inquiry into my credit report using the name of Syncb/ppc. I never applied for any credit through PayPal. My credit score has decreased precipitously.

PayPal Does Not Protect Buyers

Buyer Beware!
Do Not Use PayPal to purchase goods or services.
They state they have a "Buyer Protection" Policy, but it is truly bogus.
They will not go after fraudulent compaines selling products that is NOT what was described.
Purchase ONLY by credit card. At least credit cards will chargeback, if it is a fraudlent company selling bogus goods or services.
Again, do not use PayPal payment services to purchase goods.

PayPal Does Not Protect Buyers

My advice would be to NEVER use paypal outside of ebay - YOU ARE NOT PROTECTED. I bought a service to unblock a phone (I live in France). I never got the codes and requested a refund from paypal this is the result 'After careful consideration, we're unable to decide this claim in your favor at this time' No other explanation. A search of the internet in France found that this is not the only incident with the same company and paypal. I have trusted suppliers as a professional and I sues paypal to pay them as it is in a different currency but I am now going open a multicurrency bank account and use that instead. I will continue to use paypal for ebay transactions for the time being but once I have found another form of accepting purchases from other countries I will no longer accept paypal on my ebay sales. Ebay and Paypal make a fortune from those of us who use it, they should not then fail to protect us.
I will be contacting paypal again as I am not satisfied because they epouse using paypal so that you are proteceted

Unfair policies, poor service

Paypal is a NIGHTMARE to deal with!!! I, too, have had many of the same problems listed above. After years of dealing with them, they decided one of my products (which is perfectly legal!!!) 'violated their rules'. They told me to remove Paypal as a payment option, which I did. I removed ALL of the links from my eBay auctions. They reinstated me.

Then, a couple of days later I get an email saying I am yet again suspended. Turns out two buyers managed to pay via Paypal. I took a look at the auction link. Nope. No Paypal as payment option. I looked at the invoice. Lo and Behold, there it was. EBay (I'm assuming. Or Paypal...) had put Paypal as an option to pay!!! Even after I had physically gone through each and every listing to remove them and add another method!

I contacted Paypal about it, but they could care less. They said I was at fault!!! That I 'should have reversed the payment or refused it." WTF!?!? I didn't even KNOW they had gone through until AFTER they froze my account, which didn't allow me to do ANYTHING with it! I wrote them again. I called, had the rep look at the listing. (One guy even commented I had a line on there that said "DO NOT PAY WITH PAYPAL!") They still didn't care. What a bunch of jerks!!!

THEN, I requested my money to be mailed to me. That was a nightmare, too. Again, had to jump through all their hoops. Emails sent back to me were returned with an answer, but obviously they hadn't even read my emails. I finally wrote them back a final time, asking if they even read the emails they get. A final phone call to them did get action and they sent me my check, less, of course, their $1.50 'processing fee'. I've read about others that have had Paypal do the same to them and hold thousands of dollars for 180 days, too!

Oh, and in the meantime, I have a LOT of listings still pending/waiting for payment because of all of this, since I had to find a new method of payment acceptance and get the new account set up. But, eBay (who OWNS Paypal!!!) wants their commission money whether I've been paid or not. I wrote them to tell them the sales are pending and I haven't gotten my money yet. That without that, I don't feel I should pay them, considering they base their commissions on the final selling price. But I haven't gotten that price...and until I do, I will not pay them, since some of the buyers have already cancelled due to this mess! SO...now EBAY has also frozen my account.

Anyone know of a better online auction service? I need to find one!!!

Same here - I want my money~ File a report w/the BBB - because there are sooooooo many more out there mad at Paypal and their new policies - use to be able to accept money orders or checks - NO MORE -

Unfair policies, poor service

PayPal has b/come a joke - they have held my money for almost a month and there is NO reason why - they won't allow Money Orders or checks anymore - there's propay - but you have to pay for a credit check - non-refundable- and make a deposit -all I want is my money!~ Truthfully I think they make interest off it and it should be passed along to the one who's money they are making interest on!!

Needs 3 year old code to verify credit card

Because I used the same credit card when I signed up some years ago, PayPal wanted me to verify the card by referring to a code sent in an e-mail in 2008. Who even has the same computer they had 3 years ago? After being sent in circles for several days, I finally talked to a real person who said, “Just use a different credit card.”

Why didn’t they tell me I had that option in the first place?

I simply cannot believe you posted this. It makes you sound like an idiot. YOU can not keep up with your own records so it is their fault? And lots of people have computers longer than 3 years.
