Pfizer’s tetracycline

I am 52 years old and have blue sclera in both eyes and yellow iridescent teeth due to my mother taking tetracycline while she was pregnant with me. She was not warned of the side effects to her unborn child.
As a result my eyes are incredibly sensitive to light, I cannot go out in even the slightest amount of sunlight without sunglasses.
I have also suffered with numerous dental issues from multiple crowns being needed over the years, to yellow teeth that can not be whitened at all. My teeth are also sensitive to hot and cold.
I’ve suffered with these conditions for most of my life, feeling they are worsening with age. I worry about how much worse these conditions can get and what I will lose as I get older. Pfizer should be held responsible for the damage this drug has done to those who have used it as well as those like me that were affected in the uterus.

Tetracycline

In December of 1965, at just 4 months of age, I was placed in the hospital. There was an issue with my inner left ear for which I do not know the full details except that a plastic tube had to be inserted. At this time, anti-biotics were used. At a very young age when I began to question why my teeth were all rotted, my parents told me the story of this operation and that my bad teeth were a side effect of these anti-biotics. I was never told exactly what these drugs were.
I rarely smiled in my youth because of it. I had very low self esteem to the point where depression was normal for me. My second set of teeth came out straight, remarkably yet were stained yellow. Also, as soon as I hit puberty, I broke out in cystic acne. It last for about 15 years before it began to subside which in itself took another 15 years. I still have bouts of acne but not as severe as in my youth. I grew a bear to hide the terrible scars on my face.
Then, in the early 90s, I visited a new dentist and informed him of my childhood issues with my teeth. Because of his experience, he knew exactly what I was talking about. He replied, 'Oh that was tetracycline. I've seen it a few times before'. In that moment, I finally found out which drug was the culprit. Is there something that can be done? Some kind of compensation? Has there ever been a class action lawsuit? I suffered all my life because of this terrible drug.
I've uploaded a picture taken when I was 9 years old. I'm glad I smiled even though I hated smiling at the time. Now I have a record proving my tale is true. Thank you.

Tetracycline

1n December, 1965, at just 4 months old, I was put in the hospital to have a plastic tube inserted into my left ear. I was never told the full details but there was something wrong with my inner ear. I was told that anti-biotics were put into me and I had a reaction. My first set of teeth came out all rotted stubs. I have a photoraph of me smiling when I was just 9 years old which shows how bad it was. I've uploaded a photo. The two front teet are the beginning of my send set of teeth. Those teeth eventually were stained yellow. Looking back, even though I didn't want to smile,I'm glad I did because now I have a record of it. I was depressed throughout my youth because of it. I was told by my parents that anti-botics put into me during that stay in the hospital was the cause of my bad teeth as told by their doctor to them. Then, as soon as I hit puberty, I broke out in the worst cystic acne. Keep in mind, I was not aware of the whole tetracycline thing yet. Guess what the doctor prescribed to treat the acne. Needlessto say, it had no effect. Even now, although less severe, I still have bouts of acne. My face is now so scarred, I grew a beard to try and hide it. Depression has come and gone like clouds passing over my head. I am now 56 years old. I realize now more than ever, the damage caused by this toxic concoction. My parents never gave it a second thought. Oh, trust the doctor. It's just a side effect and there's nothing that can be done about it.
Then, in the early 90's, I visited a new dentist and told him of my childhood experience regarding my teeth. Right away he said, "oh yes, that was tetracycline". Ever since, I've wondered and tried connecting dots. He knew exactly from experience what I was describing to him. Finally, I had the missing piece of the puzzle.
I can only wonder what this did to my bones. I had to wear special boots up to age 5 to straighten my feet because they were groing crooked abnormally. I walk fine now but have been told on many occasions that I have a unique step when I walk. I've had joint pains come and go all my life. I can't help but wonder what side effects await me as I enter my senoir years that can be attributed to this awful drug. Actually, the effects have followed me all my life. Is there anything I can do about this?
