Outside door locked. Belligerent staff.

have been living at 44 The Promenade for almost 3 years. The elevator breaks down every month, this last time it was down for almost 3 days which is May 5 2020.

The buzz code to my phone has broken down or malfunctioned 3 times and took over a day to fix each time. I had 2 cheques in the last 3 years that were sent back due to insufficient funds because they did not put it through their system for over a month and then they informed me by leaving the cancelled check stapled to a notice on my door. Not under the door and in my suite but hanging on the jam of the door for anyone to grab the check and see my banking info and seeing my personal financial dealings with City Scape. Now I can only pay by debit.

They lock the outside door every night at 10 pm and no one can buzz up and the security guard will not let them. This has been happening before COVID 19. My friends that have no cell phone cannot buzz up because they have to use the Webb place entrance which is not connected to my cell phone, so anyone without a cell cannot buzz up or contact the security guard therefore my place is literally in shut down to them. This does not make sense.
What if a friend, family member etc gets into trouble, flat tire etc. They cannot buzz up because the security guard will not let them even buzz up unless if inform them. How can I inform them if I do not know the person is coming? They should have the buzzer in Webb place hooked up to my phone. That only makes sense and when I told the lady at 2:14 today May 8th she became belligerent with me and said that we cannot do this as it would cost too much money and told me that I complain too much and we always have issues with you. I told her she was being rude and was going to make a complaint.
She was raising her voice at me when I told her that the buzzer downstairs was not working and that everyone else's, basically calling me a liar. I asked why the door has to be locked and no one can buzz up and where does it say on our agreement and she said it is their internal policy.

Monday, May 4th my girlfriend went to the office to pay the rent and they said she was not allowed and I had to get a written letter and submit it to the office. I was out of town, they do not allow direct deposit and do not allow me to submit cheques because of 2 cheques that bounced in 3 years. They have a drop off spot for checks so does that mean that no one can drop off checks for anyone??? When I went to go pay the rent on May 6th at 4pm and asked why my Girlfriend could not pay my rent The Accountant became arrogant with me and started talking about their internal policy and I said it should be on the Tenancy agreement and she became more arrogant and I asked to please stop talking to me that way and she apologized

The other thing that does not make sense is the entrance where people can buzz in at the other building does not have a security guard. ??????? And as I said we have to use that entrance after 10pm which is a half a block away if the security guard is not there which is almost all of the time. In the middle of winter when it is 40 below that is not a pleasurable thing.
I do not think first of all anyone in my life should not be able to buzz up after 10pm unless I contact security first. I can see security not letting them in until I come down but how are they supposed to contact me if they don't have a cell phone? Let's say a friend wants to pop by and it is 40 below and they get dropped off and there is no security guard there and they are not aware of the policy of not being able to buzz up after 10pm. They could literally freeze as there is nowhere to go now. I think that it is absurd.

May 2 at 12:53 am I had a delivery from Pizza Hotline and the Security guard Ali was sitting down at the desk in the lobby with his feet on the table as a Person with a hoody was pacing back and forth by the entrance and when I asked the Security guard to please remove him from the premise he said, "no he is fine" The driver was scared to come to the door and I was scared also. We had to wait till he left.

A couple of months ago I walked down the stairwell and there was a purse opened and there was a shotgun shell that on the staircase. I contacted security and he refused to come to the stairwell, so I had to contact the police and they picked it up.

Just look at the reviews of this place and you will see how things go on here. They make up their own rules without contacting us or obviously the Tenancy board because not allowing visitors after 10pm to buzz up is kind of wrong in my opinion. Yet the other building anyone can buzz up to their building any time of the day. Does not make any sense whatsoever.

Place Promenade defrauds tenants and scams employees

The staff here get paid pennies over minimum wage and are expected to clean 'professionally' and when tenants move in they can expect a clean apartment yes, but good luck cleaning up to their standards when you move out. They will ALWAYS ALWAYS find something to charge tenants so they don't get security deposit back. A tenant hired on the side a cleaner that worked there to clean her suite after she moved out, when the office went to do a move out report the place was immaculate. no damage to walls or fixtures or carpet or anything. The woman from the office made up a lie and put that the tracks for the closets weren't clean and charged the tenant hours of cleaning that would be deducted from her damage. When the office learned the tenant hired a cleaner and that the cleaner knew now the office was stealing money from this tenant because the tenant was keeping the cleaner up to date on the activities they backed off on the cleaning charge and gave her the damage back.
This place doesn't pay overtime and even though they say they will let you bank the time instead when it comes to using that hour or so for an appointment you soon find that they didn't honor what they said about banking time and that now you will have that time DEDUCTED off your next check. Try to complain, try to make them remember you worked on that stat day and were promised time off in lieu of, try it. Know what happens? you will get fired. they will find you with your shoes untied or something and lose their minds and send you home. lol. just look for things to get mad at you about when you try to work the legal way. The owner lives in montreal and send all the stubs for employees in french. refuses to send in english. the tax deductions arent right, they use quebec tax info for the employees in manitoba so many of past employees have found that they have to pay at the end of the year when they do their taxes. miinimum wage employees trying to support a child have to pay MORE to the government while this crook Vincenzo Barrasso can have dozens of lawsuits filed against him, is the slum lord king of toronto, is known everywhere as just a bad human being and steals money from his tenants has been caught doing it over and over and over but yet he is still allowed to buy properties and the government lets him keep doing it. nonsensical. but i guess no one can make money being decent.
