This is not to complain about Plenty of Fish. This is to complain about a current member (August 2017) on the site who goes by the name yosemitetrout101 (Colin). There are two photos he is using on the site. One photo is a close up of his face, the other is a photo of him standing in his kitchen holding a bag of carrots. Beware! He is offensive, aggressive, manipulative, and controlling! I knew him from Match.com and he convinced me to talk to him off the site. Big mistake. I wish I had known better. He screamed at me over the phone because I was caught off guard when he asked me a political question: "You're a Republican! You're a Republican! I knew it!" I thought he was totally offensive. Things got worse from there. He started to make put downs about me. He started referencing groups of people as stupid. I think he was looking for a fight with someone he felt he could control. And he was controlling. He told me how I should feel and think. After a while I got upset and told him that I was going on vacation. I was hoping a few days off the phone from this guy would shift his view away from me, forever. Instead, he yells at me over the phone: "You better call while you're away!" I told him there was no cellphone reception, so he said: "Then call me when you get back." I got a new phone that was easier to use in blocking someone from calling me and I blocked his number. I was on my toes after this incident for awhile. Now to see him back on a sister site of Match.com is really scaring me.
What's frightening about this guy is he is using the same two photos from three years ago. He's lying about his age, when I saw him online and when I spoke to him on the phone he claimed he was 41, now he's claiming he's 40. It's possible he's older and just trying to find someone who is young enough for him to confidently control. I warned Plenty of Fish about this guy. Now I'm warning women. Please be aware of this guy. If he's controlling over the phone imagine what he's like in person.
