Involuntary change of Reservation

Priceline notified me Nov 2014 our flight has been reschedule. We never accepted those changes by written or by phone. On the day before the flight I check that the airline is still operating the flight we chose and called Priceline customer service. They informed that we can pay to have our flight changed when we were involuntary rescheduled!
