Kevin Colmey

Today I was shopping at my usual Publix in Navarre and happened to notice 3 people who walked in without shoes. I was concerned regarding this and approached Kevin Colmey who happens to be the Customer Service Manager (trust me, far from it). I informed him about the situation and asked him to address it. I turned back only to watch him go out front towards the carts and blew me off like it was nothing. I followed the individuals to see if he would say something and he never approached me. Later in a conversation he stated he said something to them which is a direct lie, as I watched them the whole time. He was on the opposite end of the store when they checked out.

I asked a cashier what his name was and she and the bag person were very eager to give me his name and the store manager stating he is "Terrible" and they can't stand him. I also addressed another trusted employee and asked him to rate him from 1-10. His measurement was .75 if that. I approached him later and told him that he was very arrogant and asked him his age. He stated 33. I stated he was acting like a 23 year-old and it was now not so much the issue of the people in bare feet as his total arrogance towards customers and his smug smile as he spoke to me. I stated to him that I spend 4K a year at that store and will take my business to Winn Dixie after 3 years and he said "That is fine, you can make that choice and do what you want". Never did he apologize for feel he was in the wrong. Only after I stated to him about his arrogance and he never once apologized, did he finally in front of his manager Eydna. Apparently she supports him and thinks he is outstanding. Yes , I swore a couple of times only because of the sheer oddasity and arrogance if this young man. When I told him I would go to Chris and Jackie, he said "fine, I have an understanding with them and fee free to do what I want".

I am a Regional Director for a hotel company who pride themselves on customer service. I have served and a Senior Area Manager for Holiday Inn for 15 years overseeing 50 hotels with a focus on customer service. After stating that to Kevin and Eydna and saying I wouldn't hire him if he was the last manager on earth, Kevin's comment was "well that is too bad you don't have to hire me". I was stunned!!!!

When I told him that 4 of his fellow employees stated that it is long overdue he gets fired and we can't seem to get rid of him, he said, "Well, they haven't told me that and here is one that loves me (Eydna). The entire time he had this smug smile on his face that was just infuriating to say the least.

I buy $23.00 per pound filets, Crab legs by the dozens. I shop there regularly and maybe my money doesn't matter since Publix is such a larger company with the building of a new store in Gulf Breeze. I most likely may still shop there because of the other employees, however I can tell you that the attitude of Keven Colmey and how the other employees feel should be fully investigated. The fact he is in customer service is baffling at best and the worst is that you would let a long time customer state these facts and allow it to continue.

Kevin kept stating it is a beach store and we don't throw people out for not wearing shoes. That may be, but it is bad business for other customers to see that in a store that prides itself on cleanliness. He never stated that on the initial complaint, which would have resolved the issue. I find that difficult to believe with health department issues the way they are.

There is no doubt that even at this point Kevin thinks how he acted was right. What he doesn't realize is that we are the customer and although he might have been right on policy, he was DEAD WRONG on how he handled the matter. I am simply appauled as his behavior goes across every grain of my being when it comes to customer service. And he is your manager? I have found better customer service at a Dollar Tree by an 8.00 employee
