Charged for Movies Returned

We rented two movies from Red Box that were returned after two days. They charged full purchase price for both movies. I would never keep a Red Box movie. They charge far more for the purchase price than somewhere like Walmart. They claimed the did not receive the movies and charged my bank account for both movies plus the rental. It was over $50. I called to complain. They said that they were authorized to refund $20. I argued they then said the were refunding $10. I stayed on the phone and argued with them for about 30 minutes. They upped the amount a couple times. After I threatened them with legal action and online complaints, they said that they would refund the money. The people on the phone sounded like they were not in the US and they acted like they thought that they were playing a game with me. I wonder how many people they are ripping off. I will not rent from them EVER AGAIN.

Multiple unauthorized charges

I rented three movies from Redbox in March 2016 and was charged $3 for the first time and $6.50 for two the second time. I made sure to return them in the 24 hour window because I didn't want to get charged for a second day. Fast forward to April and as I was checking my bank account statement today and noticed three unauthorized charges on my account from DEBIT CARD DEBIT REDBOX *DVD REN 866-733-2693 IL. The first was a $61.49 charge, the second was a $12.99 charge and the third was a $146.42 charge. When I called the 866 number on the statement the woman I talked to, after much time speaking with her and being on hold while she talked to her supervisor, she acknowledged that there was a problem and that the charges came from three different states but she claimed she could do nothing about them. She said I had to call my bank and have my bank reverse the charges. I have contacted my bank, cancelled my card and filed a complaint with the local police about the Redbox location I used. Beware of Redbox, they have the ability to charge your account but not to reverse the charges even after they admit that they experienced a glitch in the system. This is a very suspect business practice. I will never be using their services again.
