overdue charges for returned movies
I was charged 81.00 for movies that I returned. After 3 phone calls to customer service, Redbox still did nothing. They said I kept 3 movies past the due date. They were returned the next day after rental. On the second phone call, the customer service rep said that the information I was giving her was not correct and they did not show any such person, bank # or zip code. She kept trying to end the conversation and I told her that I had to wait on them to answer and that she could wait on me. Finally she stated that she found the transaction, but could not help me unless I could tell her the last 3 movies I had rented. They must be trained to find a way around any mistakes or fraudulent business they are running. She kept telling me about earning points and there rewards program while I am trying to get my 81.00 dollars back. They should be forced to give a receipt when returning the movie like you get a receipt at the bank or gas pump! Then you could prove that you returned the movie on the date it was due and no charge could be made for overages. There has to be some sort of regulations that they are not abiding by and the Better Business Bureau or some government agency should investigate. It was an expensive lesson, but Redbox will not be getting anymore of my business.
