refuse to repair vehicle

Hi Lucy,

As per our discussion, herewith details, I bought this vehicle from Renault Fountains, this vehicle has been serviced by Renault The Glen and Renault Germiston.

On Tuesday the 3rd of April 2018, I got to work, and my vehicle was dead. I called a battery centre near my work, who put the battery in my vehicle, they came to test the battery and said the quality of the battery was good however the battery was flat.
The same day at approximately 16h00 the battery was put back into my vehicle, the lights worked, radio, side mirrors etc, but the vehicle would not start. I left the vehicle at my place of work and went home.
The next day 4th of April 2018, my insurance FNB Insurance towed my vehicle to Renault Germiston as per my request.
I was told by Paulinah that the vehicle would have to go onto the diagnostic machine to be tested. On Thursday morning the 5th of April, the Service Manager called me and I explained the story to him. He then told me he did not know why the car would not start so someone from head office came to Renault Germiston. It was then confirmed that the computer that was connected with the fuel injector had blown.
At approximately 16h20 I went to Renault Germiston and paid a R5000 deposit and received a loan car.

On Friday morning, the owner of the battery centre called me, and said that they would fix for the repairs however he wanted his Auto Electrician to confirm that the computer was blown. On Friday at approximately 13h30, a tow truck arrived at Renault Germiston to take the vehicle to the Auto Electrician. I was told to take the loan car back and then my car would be released.

Upon my arrival at Renault Germiston, I went and handed the loan car keys to Paulina, and she advised me that I must give her a copy of my ID book and on Monday to please email a copy of my bank statement in order for them to refund the
money owing to me.

Today the 12th of April 2018, the owner of the battery centre called me and advised that Renault was correct and that the computer had blown and that that the dealer would need to fix the vehicle, during the process of this call apparently my vehicle arrived at Renault Germiston. Paulina called me to say my vehicle is there and that the driver is stating that the vehicle is fixed however this was amisunderstanding. I spoke to Paulina and advised her that I authorise Renault Germiston to go ahead and repair the vehicle, I was told that a computer would have to be ordered and it would take 6 weeks, which I was fine with that, she then told me she would get the Manager to call me. He then called me and stated that he is not accepting the vehicle back as he does not know what has been done on the vehicle and that they refuse to fix the vehicle.

I am highly disgusted with how I have been treated, I don’t understand how a company like Renault can turn away a customer who is willing to pay them. This car is not under warranty, the repairs were to be paid cash.
Paulina stating that I demanded the money back, I told her I had not received the money and that I have received no proof of payment.

I have only ever had my car serviced my Renault, the only reason the Auto Electrician looked at the vehicle was to confirm Renault findings.

When I received the quote from Paulina for the diagnostic test I was quoted R1200 for this test, and then I get told today on the phone that I would only be refunded R2600.

There has been no communication from Renault regarding this refund, so that is another disappointment.

I don’t feel that Renault has a very good after service, I would never blame Renault for something that they never did.

This is now a matter of urgency as I feel that Renault Germiston is giving Renault a bad name.

I am a single mother who now has not had a vehicle since the 3rd of April and Renault Germiston now refuse to fix it
