Hired a car via rental Cars .com, arrived at airport - refused my booking as I didn't have a "credit card" to make the deposit payment. My debit card has been used for this for the last 15 years of car hire from the same desk at Boston Airport, despite being told in the conditions a credit card is required. I have NEVER been refused a car hire booing on my UK visa debit. In fact when you pay int he US you are offered the choice "credit or debit" when you hand over your card. You can use your debit as a credit card and it works just the same.
I had to then run around all other suppliers and make another rental, so paid twice for car hire. No response from rental cars.com/ Travel Jigsaw when I wrote to complain.
This company are basically swindlers, thieves, fraudsters.
