Failure to provide intake

On November 4, 2019, I went to the Alston Wilkes Society in Columbia, SC. I walked in and signed in at the front desk and told the guy present that I needed financial assistance to pay my rent because my kids mother had just passed away on October 31. 2019. I had to travel to New Jersey for the funeral services and would not be able to pay my rent. He directed me across the street to another building and said to go to the second floor for SSVF. I walked directly across the street and rung the bell and this light skinned African American answered the door and I stated that I was directed to go to the second floor for SSVF. He stopped me from going in the direction of the stairs and told me to wait there. He went into the office on the first floor and came back with this upper middle aged white woman who asked how could she help me. I told her that my kids mother had just passed away and that I needed to go to NJ for the funeral services and that I wouldn't be able to pay my rent for the month and needed financial assistance with the rent payment. She stated that I needed a court order for eviction in order to get the financial assistance. I went to NJ and came back and went to the WBJ Dorn VAMC because I was enrolled in CWT. I went there and asked to speak with some one in HUD-VASH and explained the situation of my kids mother passing away which they already knew and I was directed to this room to sign in. I went to the waiting room and Ms. Marsha Bellinger-Shields came and walked me to her office. I explained the situation to her and she stated that she believed that I had to be homeless but called Ms. Michelle Howell to confirm. Ms. Michelle Howell came and walked me to her office and asked me a couple of questions and stated that I had to be homeless for participation in the voucher program and stated that I needed a court ordered eviction notice. She referred me to my primary care social worker to discuss other housing options. I filed a complaint with HUD and submitted documents to the patient advocate. I filed a complaint with the Inspector General too. The complaint was based on the fact that I was never assessed and simply told that I needed a court order eviction notice and referred. My income is from the Non service connected pension and is below the 30% median income for the Columbia Metro area which would place me in the at risk for homeless category but was not assessed even though I qualified for assistance under ESG and other programs under the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act as amended to include HEARTH 2009. I went back to Alston Wilkes to receive a written copy of the encounter on November 4, 2019 and was told that they would not provide anything in writing by the Program Manager about that day only information on the present date. a cover-up of their mistake in the failure to do the proper assessment on that date. Ms. English stated that she would only provide contact information for December 9, 2019 because she was not present on November 4, 2019. I stated that the lady linda was and she stated that I needed a court ordered eviction notice and she could sign it or write a letter. This is a cover up and is what always happens after action is taken that prevents them from getting what they were trying to achieve more participants in their PSH program.

Ssvf housing

I've been homeless since March 2016. I called ssvf and filed a claim for housing assistance. It's Dec and I'm dealing with the 7th representative. I've called the regional manager and state manager of the program. Still 9 months later and I'm sleeping on people couches or in a tent. I live out of my truck and two bags of clothes. I get calls telling me to call this person or that person, get voice mails and no response. I'm calling this program complete crap all smoke and mirrors and a pr highlight for Obama to use to campaign.

ssvf not paying for 4months as told

Was at VOA and SSVF told me to find a place to live while on 2 yr. per-diem. They brought a guy from FWE Property Management to tell all the Veterans staying at the VOA about houses he owned in Indianapolis that he would rent to us. SSVF did the paper-work which constisted of two lease agreements for me and another vet. to sign with rent payment of $550. a month but was not told it was $550. /mon. each. Now me and the another vet. are being evicted for not paying the rent for the month of March, April, and May which SSVF was suppose to pay for March and April. We need lawyer who help us with this that is knowledgable with Federal Laws about Defruading the Government.
