I received a call from a Robert Half 'recruiter' but she just pumped me for information. I gave certainly enough detail about my last position, but she persisted in trying to get more details beyond the normal scope of inquiry. I asked if she has a position that she was calling about. She wanted more information from me. I appropriately described what my skills are and what direction my career needs to go. This was mostly clear from my resume that she found online. She said she had a position but it was for someone with more years experience. Ok. Do you have anything else you are calling me about?

Well, what she really needs is to know everyone I have been submitted to and that would give her an idea of how to place me and what kind of jobs I am looking for. Several times, I asked if she has a position to submit me for, then she can simply ask whether or not I have already been submitted. I did not really need the speech about double-submitting could prevent me from getting the job. It was tough setting boundaries with this woman without feeling like the mom in the grocery store that needs to just leave and make sure the screamer gets nappy time. She was rude and aggressive, just looking for the list of all companies and the positions I was submitted to. Yeah, isn't that a great way to grow a business, pond scum

I was with Robert Half International twice. The first time was a long term position a little over 9 months and was told by a manager at Accountemps that I was going to be hired. When the truth came out the company had no intention of hiring me and Robert Half lied. As a result I went through biochemical depression took a medical leave at the recommendation of my physician; once that happened Accountemps basically dropped me. You call with no response from them. The second job was total mismatch that I was not qualified for. They simply do not care about the temp employee they just care about placing a body which is not fair to either the employer or the temp employee. They are very sneaky not to put anything in writing (email) but will only tell you about the position over the phone. It is bad enough to be laid off from a job but then to have a company like Robert Half International take advantage of you is unconscionable. By all mean avoid the Baltimore office.
