On Thursday, Nov. 30th. at around 3pm. I went to your Safeway store, located on 520 W. Osborn Rd Phoenix, AZ (store #0174). I went and spoke with Chris regarding getting a money order. He stated that I would only be able to get a money order, by paying cash. I then went to the ATM, located inside the store, but the maximum withdrawal amount is set at $400. I needed a money order for over $800. I then typed in "Safeway's policy for money orders". It states online, that you are able to get a money order, by using cash and debit, only. You can not use a credit card for any money order transactions. I thought, "great!, I font has to worry about running around trying to find an ATM, I can just use my debit card. Git back to the register and spoke with Chris again an informed him, that on your website(I showed him the policy online) it says I can use a debit card but nit a credit card. He stated that for as long as he has been there, they have only accepted cash. ONCE AGAIN, I showed him his own store policy, stating that debit cards can be used. He insisted that he wasn't able to do it. I then asked for his manager, the manager then came up and I explained to him, the sane thing I explained to Chris. He stated that as long as he has been there , they have only accepted cash. I informed him, that's fine, but your policy states that you can accept debit, not credit. He stated that he could not change the policy, I informed him that he was changing the policy, by not following the store policy and accepting a debit card. I wasted 30 minutes with the manager of the store being rude and dismissive to me. He stated that i can contact a Keith Jones, who is his boss an to call 877-Safeway. YOUR EMPLOYEES NEED TO BE ON THE SAME PAGE A YOUR POLICY AN IF YOUR POLICY ON THE WEBSITE IS INACCURATE, YOU NEED TO FIX THAT. The level of professionaism that I experienced on yesterday, was EXTREMELY disturbing.
