Price gouging

Due to the corona virus I have notice that your store is doing a lot of price gouging. Yesterday my daughter received her delivery and inside was 8 pot pies by Banquet the total price was $14.32 for the item. That comes out to $1.79 for each pot pie and before all of this virus started getting out of control they were never over a dollar. My 93% meat was never over $4.99 now it's $6.99. The toilet paper and paper towels are way out of control $17.00 for eight rolls of toilet paper. I have been a loyal Safeway/Vons shopper for more than 3 decades and if this keeps up I will be shopping at Fry's or Wal-Mart. I don't think it's right what you are doing to your customers. I'm on a fixed income and your store is making it49791 where I can't even afford to buy food because of how much you're charging the customer.

Bad attitude

I’m thinking’s my if leaving my longtime pharmacy at 26th and pearl in Tacoma Wa. The pharmacy tech Barbara has a bad attitude. She hardly ever smiles takes forever to get my meds and doesn’t seem to understand the computer. I could overlook it all if she was at least nice and not so rude. She doesn’t belong in a public customer service job at all.

An impolite employee

I was in Safeway fair lakes to buy a cigarettes, I asked the lady where can I find it, she said I will help you, she went with me and started showing me, when an employee calls EDJAR stops and shouted at her to go back to her place, and he said to me you can't keep her with you, I told him she is the one offered to help, he continued shouted at me ,I told him you can't treat me that way I will talk to your manager,he said yes go ahead, Is the Administration of Safeway allow the employees to do that, please anyone tell me how to contact the manager,thank you.

Poor customer service

Went to safeway (STORE #1563) on 200 South 3rd st in renton, wa. And service was horrible. I was not greeted at all and the pharmacy worker (AUDRA) did not say anything to me when i went to the pharmacy line. She just approached the register and begin looking at my coupon and prescription as if she already knew me. This experience was very bad and very unprofessional. As a safeway valued customer I would think the pharmacy has been trained with customer service skills but this worker did not even open her mouth before handling my issue. Instead of complaining I became the bigger person and said (hello how are you) and asked her how her day was going. She seemed very lackadaisical and seem very disturbed that I wanted to use a coupon for my prescription. Please properly train employees in the pharmacy at this location to ensure proper and basic customer service skills when handling customers. I will not be shopping at this location again and will let friends and family know not to do so either . Thank you!

Intoxicated store director 467

Complaint against 467 Store Director/manager Gabe Castro: I have finally had taken enough of watching the store Director harassing his female employees in front of customers. I have seen the store director consume alcohol on his lunch break returning to safeway and smelling like alcohol on his breath and pouring through his pores over a handful of times. No wonder why our community store is becoming lacking in all aspects.
I have seen the store director yell only at the female employees in the public view of all customers many times but I seen it go to physical harassment. I observed him grabbing female employees by the arm and physically detain them as they try to remove themselves from the hostile situation.
It’s highly offensive being a brother,father,husband and customer.
I don’t know if this store allows consuming alcohol while on duty but the physical and verbal harassment is nothing less than diatribe towards his female employees.
The Director is doing an awful job in all aspects of keeping our store in business and any lawsuits under his management is foreseeable in the near future.

Rude cashier

Safeway clerk who looks like she moonlights at a truck stop started, tossing handbaskets and pacing around us while we where using selfcheckout. I accidentally dropped a piece of paper on the ground and the lady lost her damn mind.

Delivery - Online Order

I submitted my complaint on 11/30/17 and still haven't heard anything. I placed an order (#541223-1465) on November 28th for delivery on November 30, between 11:00am-3:00pm. I received my delivery at 7:00pm! I had to cancel my doctor's appointment because I needed to receive the grocery today for a handicapped person and I had to wait four long and frustrating additional hours. Upon receiving the bags, the avocado was super mushy that when I took it outside the bag, it oozed out so I had to throw it away. The mandarins that I requested were NOT Organic satsuma mandarins that I had asked and paid for. The icecream was so melted to a liquid point that it was past the stage of even milkshake consistency. I am so very disappointed with your customer service and lack of notice at least a day before delivery for the time change. I had to make numerous phone calls to Safeway customer service and the driver as well. After waiting eight long hours and receiving incorrect, melted frozen, and mushy food, I am requesting 100% refund.

My wife and i got our lines crossed this thanksgiving and we both bought another turkey. she went last minute the day before to buy a second turkey from the safeway located at 806 Cleveland ave in loveland Colorado while i went to king soopers. She bought a butterball turkey that cost over 50 dollars. The one i bought. (28.30), but For a turkey right? (Dont buy last minute items for the hollidays at safeway).

Well the turkey stunk. We only smelled it, when we went to take it out of the fridge and cook it. Being we had two and this one was unopened and alread stinking... we just decided to take it back. The following morning my wife gave me the reciept and asked me to take it back for her.

This is when i experianced dawn and tanner.. dawn and tanner (both managers) left me standing at the customer service counter for 20 minutes (They have this two way mirror that you can really see through) they stood in there (talking and laughing) and i thought, seeing me and my turkey and hoping i would just go away.. well, i didnt. and soon i heard it call across the loud speaker "customer waiting at the service desk".

I knew this was going to suk when i saw their faces... as Dawn and tanner suffered their inerruption and came out, they both looked at me and after a minute.. staring at me blankly, she said... can i help you sir? I explained why i was there and when i gave them the reciept she proceeded poking the bottom of it with her sharp fingernails.. while he commented that it was an expensive turkey...

I was surprised when her next comment was that there were puncture holes in the bottom of the bird.
I think she was even more surprised when i told her that this was probably gonna happen when she uses her claws on it.

Well, i think, at first she was going to hope id simply take it home right? But when i refused to accept that, she began the drama, rolling her eyes and huffing and puffing as she typed into her machine.. well when she eventually came back up for breath, she said, sign for the safeway card.. i said, no, i didnt want it on a safeway card.. boy ill tell you, -then she got mad. She came immediatly back saying her company policy was not to refund an amount over 9.99. Knowing this was as uncool as it was un true, i asked to speak to the manager. They still (both standing there), replied they both were the managers.. well, i said," your selling rotten meat and i have the right as a consumer to recieve a refund for turned food.. no matter the attitude you give me, you sold this to my wife and im not leaving until you give me her money back.

At this point i verbaly checked her for her attitude and it was also at this point that tanner (the other teenage manager) spoke up again, saying "sir. Sir. Sir. Sir".. quite loud.. "im going to ask you to calm down". I replied that id be happy too. That, "if he would stop talking" and "theyd both decide, to kindly refund my money", "id not only calm down but, id never step foot in there store again".. he kept interupting me, when id talk and as i had been dealing with her as he stood there.. i finely and eventually, got tired at his attempt at being forcefull, so i asked him to leave me alone.. "calm down" "if your going to be rude im going to ask you to leave".. hes heard to many enounters with the homeless. But because i was neither hyped... nor rude.. to all events, nothing would be done.. they were bullys and they believed they were beond reproach... they just simply did not want to give me my money back and wouldnt and i could not force them.

I was dissapointed. By theyre food, theyre behavior, by theyre emmbarrassing lack of customer service. And most of all by theyre ability to bully the consumer. The creme d' la creme came when i called the number at the top of the reciept to complain to Brian Gosset the store manager.. this number only put me through to the customer service desk where tanner would eventually answer the phone

Avoid the thugs at the safeway on cleaveland in loveland colorado.. because after they take advantage of your wallets, they will take advantage of their power over you, and all under the blessing of their upper management who is willing to advocate this obvious advantage taken, by printing on every reciept given, the number to the people to whom you can complain to being the same pool of rejects who would commit these atrocities in the cirst place. Makes sense now why safeway has no complaint procedure at the corporate level.

They dont care any more than brian does..well good work, brian tanner dawn.. safeway.. im not much i know just a poor stupid gullable bullyable american caucasion consumer i know.. but i spend around a thousand dollars a week in food for the nine people i feed in my family.. and after my visit today you will never get another dime of that money.. i can promise you that.

Management

I placed my completely full hand basket at a checkout line for 2 minutes because it was too heavy to carry all the way to other side of store to get beer which is also quite heavy. Upon returning to the same check out line I found my shopping basket to be gone. This happen to me 4 times before and I had to re shop for everything each time which was a royal pain and spent much more time in store than I cared to. I guess it appears I should have learned a lesson to not do this ever again after the first time. However, it seems appropriate that someone could do this and for store managers, especially the manager at South Broadway store location in Walnut Creek CA, could stop this action and mind your own business and give a shopper at least 5 minutes to return!

I hate Safeway now after years of going there.

I've lived here for years and shopped there. Over last year or more I hate it. There are never enough checkers and lines are backed up. Neighborhood is starting to shop elsewhere. You need to change this as folks are not happy and talking

poor service at 1978 Contra Costa Blvd

This is the worst Safeway I have ever been too.
Shelves are regularly empty.
Checkout lines are so long that they are all the way down the isles and into the floral dept.
10-20 people in line is not uncommon.
Express lane is hardly ever open. Self checkout stations are always broken.

Safeway Employees

Safeway is a grocery corporation with a multi-million dollar profit margin. On their website for investors (linked at the bottom of Safeway.com) it shows their NET profit for 2011 was $589.8 million dollars. Yet they want to take food out of their own employee's mouths, and money out of their pockets. They are taking away full time work hours, no longer paying a fair portion of medical benefits by pushing the total cost on to their already slashed employee's pay, then taking away holiday pay and overtime. Safeway wants to be "The Company Store" from the early nineteen hundreds with broken wage slaves who work inconsistent schedules for terrible pay. They've proven this by what they put in their contract and handed over to the union at the bargaining table this month.

They know their employees are on fragile budgets and few can afford to strike, so they have the strength and the ability to pressure their union into a strike that will only hurt their workers further, and possibly cause them to collapse and agree to the unfair and unbalanced contract. Striking just won't do! Their employees want to work for fair and livable wages.

Racial profiling

I went to safeway to return items ( I had receipts) and to shop. My items were in my tote. I normally return first but my funds were limited and I wanted to find sales first. I noticed immediately two guys following me through the store (as soon as I entered). I shopped while watching them watch me (very badly I may ad). I decided some items I didn't want and put them on a shelf (not on the aisle I got them from). I got in line to pay and the older guy that was following me got in line behind me. He said to me "put it back". I at first thought he was talking to someone else. He was looking at me and said it again. I said "what?, put what back?". He said" I know you have hair products in your purse". I said "No I don't". I then turned showed him where I had placed the items on the shelf (the items I had earlier decided I didn't want).He said he was calling the police. I said "call the police". Then I walked away to try to get service on my phone ( In Safeway my cellphone service doesn't always work, I guess its the structure of the building). He grabbed my purse dumbed it out and voila...NO HAIR PRODUCTS! He took my items that I was returning even though I had receipts! I went outside and called the police. I believe I was targeted as soon as I walked into the store because I am black. I noticed the two white males following me as soon as I entered the store. (Image of receipts too large to upload )

Non service animals

While walking into the store there was a lady walking out with a boarder collie. The dog was terrified and i was in fear of being bitten.
I mentioned this to the shift manager and was told that they had spoken to this lady who told them that it was her service dog in training.
The lady had no ID on her or the dog.the manager told me that there was nothing they could do the moment that the lady made her claim that the dog was in training. I dont believe for a that she was a actual dog trainer but just someone that wanted to take there pet into the store. A real trainer would have not put that dog in that situation. SOMEONE WILL GET BIT!!! Change your policy and require certified proof.....

Biased Manager

I work at safeway and i have the most biased and the most hypocritical manager. She picks favours and if an employee is someone she doesn't favour then she starts showing you the rule book. I am an honest working employee and if i have an emergency theres only so much that i can do about the situation and the manager should try to understand the situation just as she would if there was an employee that she favours. I see a fee of my fellow employees doing nothing all day but walking around the store and two managers are sitting in a Air conditining room when the rest of the stores Air conditioning Barely works and the cahiers are standing for 5 to 6 hours with no Air conditioning. Our store needs renovation theres not enough tills and we need mangers that aren't biased and don't molde the rules only for their own conveience but if an employee goes and talks to them the managers starts yelling at them but when it comes to them or their favourite employees then suddenly there are no rules that Apply. I urge and kindly request you to look upon this situation. Thanks

Allegedly accused by zkenny Han of changing my prescription

May 2nd I went to the pharmacy at 1814 19th street to see if a prescription was ready. I was treated really bad and unfair, being told by Robert Han who said that I change a prescription illegally. I told him that wasn't true and it needed to be investigated. He walked away from me and yelled out loud "you know you did it". Then he called the Safeway police to come where we were as if I was a criminal. I explained to the officers what happened while I tried to hold back my tears. They listened and then left. After they left I was in tears, several customers heard the pharmacist and as I was in tears one gave me a hug and told me to email Safeway about my treatment. Other customers were concerned about the way I was treated.
Robert Han humiliated me and this is not the first time I was humiliated by a pharmacy employee there. Shawn, a pharmacy manager refused to give ne a brand medication according to my doctors wishes. I have always been getting the brand prescription of Opana until that day in 2014. I believe Shawn wrote this offensive description of me of fraudent because I called Safeway Corporate office and made a complaint against him. I believe because I am black/Indian that I have been discriminate.

Poor customer service

I have always gotten my medications at Safeway. Ever since Albertson's bought them out they cannot order my brand of medication that I'm not allergic to. District manager said they made a company wide decision three months ago to only carry Meds from their distributor. I have severe allergies and even a little change in the formula is not good. Now I have to travel miles to get my medication. Ridiculous. They should be able to get Meds from wherever supplier is needed. They have really gone down hill. Since the buy out the prices have gone way up and the floral department is terrible in the last year also. Their old buyer had such an eye in this department.... I will not be shopping there.

Car accident

Good afternoon Mr.Edwards , my name is Camella Braxton, on Sunday; march 8, 2015 one of Safeway truck driver's by the name of Tykia Brown hit my vehicle. I am 7months pregnant and was taken to the hospital by the ambulance on the day of the accident due to contractions induced by the trauma of the accident at that time a police report was being done where Ms. Brown admitted to being at fault. She listed a Safeway location of 1855 Wisconsin ave Washington, D.C. 20007 as the owner of the truck and self insured as her insurer, because of that I contacted that stores assistant manager Brandon who could not assist me but did give me Katrina Alexander , operations manager of Safeway.com number,she was very unprofessional and in the end couldn't assist me. I then contacted the corporate number , who I spoke with customer care supervisor millisia . She transferred me to several different people who where either no help or refused to answer or return my many calls , Mr.Tom Martin, Titto Millera, Ms.Carol Lind,John Klismann & element fleet who you all haven't worked with since 2014. I am so upset that I have gotten no assistance over a week after the accident, my car is damaged , Ive been experiencing severe lower back pains , head aches , and have been terrified to operate a vehicle since the accident because I'm 7months pregnant and have had a history of miscarriage. This accident has really inconvenienced my family I'm about to go to settlement on my first home now I cannot be apart of any part of settling in my home due to the back pain , I have a 10month old and 5 year old who I haven't been able to do anything active with , my car has been damaged over a week and my husband works two full time jobs,I'm in constant pain, and I'm in my last trimester of pregnancy and can't even get to a store to get the essentials the my baby . I'm hoping since you are CEO you will be able to rectify this already prolonged situation, if not I will be having to take legal action. racist manager

Mr Robert Edwards;
My son in law has worked for Safeway for over 5 years. Loves the Store. You have a manager of the Redding store who is a racist-does not like Mexicans-(My son in law) She fabricated a complaint with another employee who got promoted over him shortly after this incident A confrontation happened a few days ago that needed attention--shoplifter-- Son In law confronted the shoplifter protected himself from the attack--Company policy shop and leave--no pay-he did not want to be disabled from the attack and blocked the blows. Customer reported it to the management & RPD who responded. YOUR company policy--my Son in law was suspended-told to quit or fight we have no money he left Safeway Your BONOUS pay means that much to you??? Hope you choke on every dime you make- wouldn't call 911 on Safeway-no matter what--Bonus pay!!! YOUR policy--I can shop and walk out with out paying???

Awful customer service

I had my first experience in this store in Lodi off of Kettleman. I was pleased that no matter where I went through this store employees were very friendly. Then I went through the check out and had a problem with EBT card. The store manager was called for assistance and he was very rude and sarcastic. Had it not been for the friendly checker I would have left the food and store never to return again. I will not return to any safeway because of this experience much less that particular one. This gentleman should not be working in a customer service position and I was deeply offended.

If you think you are treated bad as a customer, try working there! Employees are treated like less than dirt. No wonder they are 4th in line behind WALMART. Couldn't out smart the fox, could you Mr. CEO?
