Rusting in and around the bleach dispenser. Getting noticably worse to the point where I am concerned that the rust is going to get into the water and stain my clothing.

It's going to need to be replaced. I'll give Sears a chance to earn my repeat business by issuing a substantial voucher towards the purchase of a new washer or I'll take my business elsewhere.

I too have had my washer for about 5 years and the rust where the bleach would go. Have tried for a long time now to get it fixed. It is due to faulty design, allowing bleach to sit on metal. See Picture

The top Metal is rusting from inside out.
Poor quality control,did not test machine for durability.Has stainless steel drum,but does no good when
Entire machine is rusting out.
Would join class action law suit if requested!
Will not recommend Kenmore elite products after owning several others!

We purchased a Kenmore Elite top load washing machine from SEARS in 2015. I called the customer service department with SEARS and was told my warranty was about to expire and therefore could not help. The excuse that SEARS uses that the consumer put bleach in the dispenser incorrectly is a bold lie because we have NEVER used the bleach dispenser.
We have been loyal customers of SEARS for over 40 years and because of this, will NEVER purchase from SEARS again!!

We purchased a Kenmore Elite Washer in 2015 and our bleach dispenser has completely rusted out and the sad excuse that gives is a lie because we have NEVER used bleach in our washer. Based on the number of complaints I read about this same problem, I will NEVER purchase another SEARS product again. When I called SEARS to complain, I was told my 2 year warranty was almost up.
PLEASE TELL EVERYONE YOU KNOW NOT TO PURCHASE ANY PRODUCT FROM SEARS.

I have had the Kenmore Elite top load washing machine for 6 years and it started to rust around the bleach dispenser. You can even see rust inside the bleach dispenser. I stopped using bleach and it continues to accumulate rust. The worst part is that many of my clothes and bedding have received rust stains on them. This machine clearly has a known issue and it seems Sears is unwilling to admit it. They even exclude rust issues from their warranty so there is not much as consumers that we can do. I believe there should be a class action suit against Kenmore and Sears. There are too many washers out there with this issue that has gone unresolved.
